    Should the NHS refuse Treatment?

Anyone watch Panorama last night? The abuse NHS workers come under is appauling - should they be able to refuse treatment for abusive patients?

it's a fine line - who would draw it? on what ground would they use to refuse treatment?

i'd say YES. Someone chins you - turf them into the car park.

If I worked for the nhs I wouldn't want to be dealing with violent patients but at the same time it would be hard to refuse when it's treatment they need in order to survive. That guy on dialysis was a fucking prick but refusing him treatment would mean he died. Did he deserve to die cos of his behaviour? Probably not

The only people who would be abusive to nurses are charver types, so to speed up the process, just stab them in the face when they come into the hospital. Problem solved.

It's hard to decide really, what about people who are hysterical from shock, what do you do there just let them sit in casualty until the fall unconscious then treat them?!

In theory I'd say doctors and nurses should have the right to refuse treatment but in practise it's going to be hard to implement a fair, standard practise throughout the NHS

    If it's physical abuse, absolutely.

There is no point in the NHS if they refuse people treatment.
