http://www.metro.co.uk/tv/888428-simon-cowells-syco-to-launch-global-x-factor-for-djs-tv-talent-show Looks like a commercial competition for all of the koosday types...
All these people getting proper angry about this need to clear the fuck off. Is this REALLY going to affect anyone? At no point will anyone involved in this program be booked by the promoters we support, so who gives a shit? Let them get on with it and focus your efforts on bettering yourself for the people who support you.
I can't really see it attracting enough DJs for it to be credible tbh. You'll just get the odd chancers going for it. Anyone who's already had a degree of success (or who has standards) won't touch it.
Going off the success (or rather lack of) of Cowell's X Factor contestants I can't see any winner of this being anything other than a fleeting money spinner for SYCO. The odd 'celebrity' booking in Ibiza, LA and the UK and ten minutes of fame. This is for ratings and nothing more. I'll be watching though, hoping for some sort of DMC style affair!
Fucking hell. Wait till the Jaunt lot get wind of this. They will properly shed their first beards with excitment. #Onedirectionwatchyourback
This program does not make me angry as i will probably check it out just as the x-faxtor has no bearing on my life neither will this. But i would love to Hear Mad Mike from Underground Resistances take on it will be very different from deadmau5's.Seeing as Sony tried to get them to sell out over Knights Of the Jaguar failed and tried to put out a Rip Off copy then got beat in court and U.R. are very vocal about staying independent as a label and as artist's just as Immortal Technique is in Hip-Hop. .Simon Cowell knows electronic music is finally blowing up in the states with the Electro house/Hip Hop/Dudstep/R'N'B Cross overs maybe he just looking to get into that market all i see with him is $ signs. Its not like supports his acts if they fail on the music he makes them sing on.he just there to make money for for his lifestyle and plastic surgery. If we get the next Jeff Mills/Roc Raider/ Sasha or anyone who pushes the creativity of Dj'ing in its now many forms that's cool by me but there is a lot of culture, love of music goes into Dj'ing and producing to hear Simon Cowell give his thoughts means nothing its the other Judges from what ever labels or Sub labels advice they give that could be interesting. Lets see what styles he pushes because for every commercial dance record there's 50 underground niche music styles that have a following that he won't have a clue about such Electro-swing/Speed core and Makina.
