Sniffer dogs I know this might alarm a few people but at Colourfest there was loads of police on the entrance and everyone who went in was at the mercy of the sniffer dogs. Anyone who the dogs found suspicious then had to undergo a strip search. Know someone who was caught and they just had them taken off them and were then allowed in. Still makes you worry about going to festivals. I'm sure I once read that they weren't allowed to do this - some sort of privacy law but then again they are police so you can't really argue with them
Has to be said there was a lot more sniffer dogs this yr compared to last year. We got there about 7ish and there was about 5 dogs searching when we were going in. It did scare me a bit when we were gettin searched i didn't see anyone get caught.
The dogs were shit, the police themselves probably sniffed more drugs out than the dogs. There was only 1 spaniel (Spelling) there and that was the dog that was getting people searched, the rest of the dogs were labradors and i have never seen a labrador sniffer dog, only spaniels.
i always thought the police had to take u 2 a police station to do a strip search if they had reasonable suspicion. and they u could have a solictor present. if thats true they could not mdo strip search's in a tent at a festival they were sniffer dogs at last years gg, was well scary.
i can cope with small dogs...like cockerspaniel and smaller..unless its a terrier... labradors, large hounds, and alsations scare the shit outta me...and martins scared of all dogs if they smell nething it will b us soiling oursleves.
last year at GKGG i was terrified, and i didnt even have anything on me, once i got past them i realised they were fine. i didnt realise one was behind me as i was going in, and it ran through my legs, i nearly shit myself, the bloke was like "dont be scared, just let him sniff you" and then it was all over, nothing really to be scared of!!
There were sniffer dogs at Mainframe and GC SSS. I think there will be dogs at all the big gigs this year.
That's what I thought as well so wasn't too bothered at first. Only when I saw a couple of small tents with a copper standing outside with rubber gloves on did I start shitting myself! Basically if the dog smelt anything they were going to find it no matter how well you'd hidden it. It was well intimidating. They let in about 20 people in at a time who had to stand in single file, one behind another. Either side there was about 4 or 5 coppers just staring at you. Then this dog went up the line about 3 times. Got a few people but missed a lot of others.
My brother was pulled away by the filth casue the dog passed him and sat down. He was searched, pretty much as normal but just by the old bill and aloud to go in. He explained to the guy he'd been smoking watching the football and the police was cool with him. I wouldn't worry unless your carrying trays of hash fudge which has always bothered me as how they get that stuff into festivals :chill:
The dogs at GCGG were well lame, had some stinky greenery and it just ran right past- perhaps i smell more than the skunk did, ha ha
