    Speed Camera Info

    Hi everyone,

I am panicing a bit, and could use some information.

I have just been racing along a road in Sunderland, doing about 50 in a 30 zone.

It's on a road that the mobile cameras often park, so I made my normal check as I came around the corner, and there was no sign. I then slow down and turn off that road.

I then nipped for a tab, which involves being far away from my office, as working for the NHS I am a lepar so have to not be seen having a smoko.

As I went round the back of my office, I saw the dam speed van parked up, a little further down than normal, hiding behind a bus stop.

As I would of been braking to turn off the road, and he is further away from normal, what do you think my chances are of him monitoring the piece of road after the junction, or does the radar nab people from a bigger distance?

And, if the worst comes to the worst, does anyone know how long the fine etc takes to come through the post?

I am panicing because I have only been driving for 4 months, and if I get 6 points in my first two years I have to retake my test.

Will this be 3 points and 60 notes worst case?

    Any input welcomed peeps!

Its a none urban industrial road, to semi-condone my speed.

Is there any need for the C word tho?

For anyone that misread my request for information as...

"Please judge me and post greif asap please"

It is not. Does anyone know anything about the mobile cameras? and possibly how long a fine takes to come through your door?

they work fairly close to the van.
they have to let you know within 28 days. but it's usually sooner than that.
    good luck

Everyone's going on like they've never done any speeding.

I'm against speeding but I know I do it from time to time, I'm just lucky I've never been caught.

    Thanks Marc, Forks & wally.

I am normally a 'by-the-book' driver (apart from parking).

I plan to remain blaming Lionel Richie, especially if something does come through the door. He was on the radio, so I was singing my heart out "alll night longgg, all night, alll nighttt longgg" after coming out of a stuffy meeting!

I am trying to get the situation out of my mind, but it is scrolling through my forehead like one of those message boards in GP Practices at the mo :p

yeah it'll be bout 3/4 weeks.... if u do get caught at that speed u will be fucked!

If you'd of been a couple over like i've been done for u get the option to attend a speed seminar instead of receiving points....

I did and had to watch all these vids of crashes and listen to mourning parents whose kids have been mown down...

Then there's a Q&A session where everyone there simply complains about being caught only 2 mph over, signs are visible enough, its all money making crap etc...

As i left i received a free keyring also!
