speeding mates got 6 points already, and was clocked doing 47 in a 30 zone, i think shes fucked personally, but does anyone know any loopholes or owt, shes seen the picture of the person in the car and its a female for defs so cant be fobbed off. i heard recently they made the penalty for speeding a straight 6 points so basically 12 and your off, anyone know how long ya banned for or does it go on the severity or what? hopefully there are a few here who have had similar incursions with the law??? not looking rosey like
i found a calculator that says she may be ok and get about 4 - 5 points because the fixed penalty threshold for a 30 zone is 50.
The camera never lies! Should however be offered reduced points for suffering some excessively grim driver education course.
yeah i heard the do courses but if its over a certain speed they nick ya license, she might be alright hopefully
Thats only if your marginally over. I got caught doing 39 in a 30. Didnt get offered the chance of a course. Just 3 points and a 60 quid fine
Re: speeding She would get a year, reduced to about 8 months if she does a course on driving safety (dire), that costs you about £200. Is there not a way to buy points off your back now? I'm sure I read that
the only loophole is if the 30mph zone isn't well signed. I got flashed in a 30, admitted it and stumped up, I found out about 2 weeks after I got the fine that there hadn't been 30 signs where the camera was (I thought it was national as it was dual carriageway and I was slowing down as I came up to a pair of 40 signs). Not sure if it's variable points yet...
I think shes more than likely fucked. Whereabouts did it happen? If it was in a built up residential area where theres kids and that running around to be honest I have no sympathy for her. As you come out of the town where I live you drive past an industrial estate and theres no way it should be a 30 and they always have a camera van parked there its a total revenue maker, pisses me off that. Anyone caught speeding near a school wants shot with shit though they deserve to be banned for life.
nah was apart of the a690 in s/land she was caught on, there wont have been many signs on it like, i noticed theres 1 sign for most of the way through the fucker today and it aint no big normal size one, its the ones the size of a dinner plate cellotaped to a lampost
