Sun 29.8.10: Leeds: Garden Party - Omar S, Matthew Dear, Trus'me + more Part 3 of 3: The 5th Anniversary – Closing Party TECHNIQUE & ASYLUM present The Faversham Garden Party Sunday 29 August 2010 2pm – 4am Our beloved Garden Party turns 5 years old this Bank Holiday - who'd have thought that we'd be so full of life at this ripe old age (club years are the equivalent of dog years!)? The Garden Party has become a force to be reckoned with - a landmark on the yearly calendar for those who are discerning about the way the spend their bank holiday Sundays but who want to party properly. This year has seen the event continue to grow into quite literally one of the finest place to party in the UK if not Europe and for that we would like to say thank you and invite you to come and celebrate with us in style as we host the final Garden Party of 2010. In order to celebrate we are pant wettingly excited to be hosting non-other than THE OMAR-S aka THE BEST for an exclusive show. Omar is flying all the way from Detroit just to play the Garden Party 5th Anniversary - how cool!? Omar is responsible for some of the most downright soulful and emotive music we've had the pleasure of hearing, well, ever! For those who know, you know, for those who don't you should! As if this wasn't enough we are happy to see MATTHEW DEAR aka AUDION return to the Garden Party - we think Matthew probably needs little introduction given that he's arguably one of the most innovative electronic musicians working today. Whether it's his pop sensibilities under hos own name, his warehouse techno as Audion or his intricate False guise Matthew is continually on the cutting egde. As if all that wasn't enough we have the pride of Manchester in the shape of TRUS'ME descend on us to join in the fun...slo'mo, disco, house, soul, funk - who knows? Who cares? It's just brilliant and we're excited to finally bring him to play at one of our events. And last but by no means least our friends from across the border SENSU head down south leaving the comfy surroundings of undoubtedly one of the UK's' finest clubs, SUB CLUB, to come and bust some moves for you lucky lot - while them cheeky Mancs from across the Pennines, Kaluki and Micron do battle over in the White Lounge - phew! As you know these events have sold out for the past few years, blah blah, blah… After party @ Wire with Micron ‘til late! Come witness Leeds' original and finest daytime Bank Holiday sioree Beware of imitations! he played a couple of years ago in Boro....small room and 150 of us there. One of the best gigs I've been too!
Bet that was class, 150 would be perfect for Omar S, we were wanting him for a similar sized party but his fee was through the roof! Not possible to do in Newcastle but perfect for the garden party
this is gonna be massive. looking forward to omar s massively. seen dear twice in the last year and hes been immense both times also. lets hope for sunshine!
