swan hunter i heard this weekend there selling off teh cranes that make up wallsend skyline now swans has an amazing history and acredit 2 the north east or brithish shipbuilding for that fact and its closed never 2 be opened and plans either 2 be a uni there or trendy flats and that well i think its a fucking disgrace when glasgow get billion pound contracts and even with out history we get nothing i know theres no point in crying over spilt milk but i love the cranes of wallsend think there nice 2 look at and make wallsend what it is
Manufacturing is dead in the UK, and you can thank Labour for having a part in it over the last 10 years of them being in power. The UK is being 'turned' into a services providing country, but even those are being offshored and the like. Its cheaper to make things in other countries, and the quality is usually better as well (as a whole). Sad to see them go - but we have ourselves, and our leaders to thank for that one.
ure right like totally right, i just feel angry u know, never working in there myself but my father and grandad working in there serving there apprentaships in there and that the storeys ive heard and the things its dun, just annoys me
they should preserve one. the skyline will be crap without them. I'm from a yorkshire mining town and the pit headgear used to dominate the place and now there is no sign they were ever there. sad. but life moves on. there is an artificial ski slope there now and that dominates the skyline
yeah but swans is a key figure in the tyne river and really is a MASSIVE site i know everything is going and whats really on me mind is what is gunna be there, shit flats that will look horrible or summit else north tyneside council think will get them sum money
well castlefords a shithole and leaving it was the best thing I ever did. then I moved to north shields :spangled:
