syriana went to see it last night.... completely dissapointed to be honest.. its totally let down by a lack of character development and a really unnecessary torture scenes, and nowhere near as rounded as I had expected.. and whats the deal with producers now feeling the necessity to run so many parallel story lines at once in order to confuse the viewer? i'm thinkin its to cover up a lack of intelligent thinking in the plot? worth wathcing if only to say you've seen it.
aside it being a bit all over the place, its not a bad film by any means, it just needed an extra 10 mins at the start to let you actually know who the characters where!
I've wanted to see Syriana for ages. It's way ahead of the Weatherman in the pecking order. We can go 5o'clockish
its directed by the fella who directed traffic, he must be a one trick pony, the reviews said it was all over the shop and had no character rappor
I saw this back in november.. it was out in the states ages ago. From what I remember I was confused and largely unimpressed. Imo I think it suffers a similar fate to Munich.. its too political, but in the case of this movie it kinda has to be.. However.. it kept me watching so it can't be all that bad.. The Weatherman is canny like.. its refreshing to see Nicolas Cage in a kinda sarcastic comedy where he is the butt of all the jokes. Its dry humour and may not be to everyones tastes but I thought it was good!
thought the trailers looked good so got it on dvd but not watched it yet, will give it a look the morra
I normally like political films like this, but thought this was a bit boring, and certainly dragged on quite a bit
