    Re: Technics or Pioneer

The technics player has been panned at review - features it may have, but they're all badly implemented and it has poor build quality.

If you're looking at the higher end players (£600-£800) then consider either the Pioneer CDJ1000 or the Denon DNS5000. The Pioneer is the firm favourite and most people prefer it to the denon, but the denon has better features and is cheaper in comparison.

If you're on a budget (£300-£400) you may want to consider the Pioneer CDJ800 or the Denon 1000/3000/3500 (you can get the latter on ebay for about £350 if you look around).

If you're downloading music from beatport/audiojelly/djdownload then bear in mind that the denon players play mp3 cds.

heard that the technics cd decks are pretty wank actually.

denon dn-s3500 looks like the one of the moment.. i currently own a dns3000 and its nice. the 5000 has more features than the pioneer.

when ur spending that cash it might be worth demoing them

I don't really use cd decks much, but virtually every main dj rider specifies pioneer cdj 1000's, though for some reason Dave Clarke won't play on anything other than the technics.

If you're planning on playing out, then i reckon you should get pioneers as that's what you'll be playing on when you're out 99% of the time.

Said it a hundred times but the Pioneers are lovely decks and mine is well used and loved... but once you've learned to use most of it (a day max) then you might wonder about other decks..... like the denon!

Obviously some people hate it, but i couldnt live without pitch bend buttons that i can give little stabs on, instead of using the wheel on the Pio which is great for large pitch adjustments, but for the finer stuff it aint so great (to me) ..... I even find myself making adjustments on the Denon when its the Live deck (you dont notice it) using the pitch bend buttons, rather than try tiny movements on the pioneer (cue deck) .... and then adjust the pioneer. Sounds a bit wierd but i find myself wanting to do that for the control.

I think its pretty much agreed by most people that the Technics CD player has been a total white elephant - Looks lovely but it just hasnt gained any respect or gotten people in their masses buying it........... Dave Clark might refuse to use anything else.... but he's probably the only one :)

    Essay over :)

    Cheers for that

It was a toss up between technics and the pioneer. Ive never used a Technics, but they do look smart.
Ive seen other people using them aswell and thought they would be mint... but looks arent everything "its the inside what counts"

I will defo try to get a go of a Technics before I decide but cheers for the advise:D
