    Temazepam

Anyone had this? How strong is it? How long does it make u sleep for?

I went to the doctors about my wrist cos I hurt it at work and I also asked about something to help me sleep because sometimes I'll just lie in my bed for about 3 hours trying to nod off and when I have to be up for work at 4:30am it's just notm something I want to have to do each night.

My mam is kicking off cos she says it's an anti-depresant blahdy blah and she's also giving me the speach about how I shouldnt need pills to make me sleep and how temazepam is really strong.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

    Side effects:
Dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness, confusion, euphoria, staggering, ataxia, falling. Infrequent paradoxical reactions (e.g. excitement, stimulation, hyperactivity, hallucinations).

I'll have them off ya if ya mam won't let ya take them

Temazepam is a hypnotic agent useful in the short-term management of insomnia. It has no effect, however, in shortening the time taken by patients to fall asleep.

ah my mam is one of those overly caring people. My dad has got himself drunk tonight which is once in a blue and purple moon with pink spots but she's kicking off. I'm on his side cos I know if i ever get married i'll be getting drunk now and again :)

The doctor said i should do a week on and a week off to avoid addiction butn i'm only going to take some if i cant sleep. I've had a few pints tonight so i shoul be ok. I should have asked for some ketamine :(

I thought that when my mate started taking them. I think you should be careful with them and take them with anything else. I know of someone who OD'd on them so always get dead worry when i hear of people taking them:(

I know someone who was prescribed it after major surgery

I'm suprised your doctor has prescribed them for you, some doctors prescribe sleeping pills & anti depressents too freely.
I recon yer mams right, you shouldnt need to take pills to sleep.

I used to take them for fun when I was younger, they were stronger and used to be called green jellies.
I used to wake up in the mornin and not remember a thing!
    Strong stuff.

I mentioned nytol and my doc said it's probably full of paracetemol and alcohol and isnt worth the trouble really.

I'll let u all know what happenes when i take one of these pills. (if I need to otherwise they'll just sit here).

Nytol is def what the doc said, but why isnt it worth the trouble? It totally knocks you out for the night! Im sure it isnt that bad anyway you should check what it has in it. Basically if your taking stuff to help you get to sleep theres a big risk you could get addicted cos once you start having that help its hard to get to sleep without it. Theres nights when I wish I had something to help me sleep - ive recently been having problems sleeping as well and Im thinking about getting a bottle of Nytol. Its just so harsh when your alarm goes off and you feel like you havent slept.
