Right I leave in a week and have a rough idea of which places that i'll be going to. But anyone got any suggestions about where I should definately go to and what I should see, and where should be avoided.

In the US i'll be making my way down to L.A. from San Fran, via Vegas and Death Valley, and then i'll be spending 4 days in New York.

    Any help is much appreciated!

thailand - chiang Mai & chiang rai are amazing...

do the river boat trip in bangkok...you pay a pittence to get on a boat & get off at loads of stops to see sights. there is also a floating market :)

also if you hav emore than 2 days in bangkok get a flight to siam reap in cambodia & see angkor wat :D

Don't go to Phuket, it's cheesy as.

If you want some posh nosh in Bangkok try to get booked in at The Dome aka Sirocco.

If you want to experience Bangkok's seedier side (like any of it isn't seedy) make sure you go to Nana Plaza.

I hear the river boat is amazing but I didn't go.

The emerald buddah is pretty spiritual if that is your thing.

That is pretty much the same tour of the world as I wanna do next year. I'd wanna live in Oz for a while though.

I would personally recommend spending as little time as possible in Bangkok and just head straight south to the islands.

Would not recommend spending much time in LA either.

    Have a good one :)

Where did you go to island wise? I'm back there in a few weeks but I want to find nice quiet islands to visit rather than Blackpool in the sun (Phuket).

Rob, I have had most enjoyable times on Koh Phangan. Just really quiet and beautiful.

Meant to go to Koh Tao last year but never got round to it, deffo going to go this year as it looks good. cool diving as well.

Samui is pretty commercial, although there are bits that are not as bad as Chaweng. Still, wicked beach though.

Krabi / Phi Phi is really nice on the west as well.

That restuarant in Bangkok looks pretty sweet. How much a head was it?

Thanks, I'll check some of those places out.

It's about £50 - £100 per head with drinks. Only somewhere for a special occasion really but the views were amazing.

if u's are only there for 3 weeks i would go to cambodia instead of vietnam.

the main places in cambodia could be done in 4 days where as vietnam is much more vast & you could spend a lot mor etime there imo :D
