The Darkness I've never got this mob, I know the 'cool' mob think there amazing and love this so called rock and roll revival but I think there cringible and about as rock and roll as Busted. Some nice guitar playing and they can all play live but the lead vocalist is a bell end and those high pitched falsetos are really fucking annoying. Muse pissed all over them at the Brits and one good thing is they'll have dissapeared after maybe one more album !!
I kept reading on this board long before I had heard them they were REAL rock and were a breath of fresh air. I gave them the benefit of the doubt with the first single thinking they were trying to cross over and appeal to the commercial market but it seems all there music is like that. There woeful.
they dress like queen, look like queen, sing like queen, their videos are like queen - but they aint the real deal. whats the big deal about this 70's glam revival anyways? it's old and tired. it's not new or anything. 1 album wonders.
They r good because they made rock a bit more fun in the same way Tenacious D do, but musically wise there are far better British rock bands such as Muse, Lost Prophets, HIM
exactly... atleast tenacious d have very much there own style and are doing there own thing - rather than ripping off other people... it was a clever marketing trick to get them famous quickly - stick them on tour with Def Leapod first then robbie williams. Sell muchos albums, make big dollar - fook off back to oblivion.
Their popularity seems to stem from the same school of thought that thinks chopper bikes, wham bars and pleated skirts are "hip"...... Very Gimmicky....
Got to agree with that! But when it comes on when ur out it puts a smile on ppls faces, so its not all bad.

It makes me lauch how them weapons called "The Darkness" have the fucking cheek to grief Oasis ! I think they want to have a long long look in the mirror before they start griefing one of the UK's best Indie/Rock groups ever ! I cant even see "The Darkness" filling the metro radio arena never mind Knebworth with 250,000 people each day like Oasis did ! Fucking long haired bell ends...
Not to sure about how good oasis are/were - one cracking album right enough but I agree with yer other points They've been very well marketed, a bit like Busted.
