    The Era Of...

    ...what?

We have had 'progressive', 'trance', 'hardtrance', etc...

whats next? a lot of djs predicted vocals would come back as a big thing this year which has happened. It seems that techno is becoming bigger with the likes of Fergie and Picotto (big names) in particular playing a lot more into their sets. Hardtrance seems to have had its time or at least is not really moving any further forward.

I think the techno-trance sound is coming through strong at present. Djs like Phil Kieran, Marco V, Montana are all playing this kind of stuff that sound really techy

i don't know whether this follows a trend with clubbers either tho cos i'm goin to more nights that i wouldn't have previously such as trance/techno/hardtrance/techno trance. Its getting very hard to pigeon hole music now - for example - what is timo maas' style? Driving house? With the different styles and types of music being produced now there is a wider variation and a lot more choice - its good i think but apparently clubbing is also in a decline

I relation to the comment about dj's styles, its best to play a bit of variation in your sets, tiesto is well good at this as he plays music that people want to hear.

I dont know if there is a decline in clubbing altogether, maybe just in the North-east of England. Promise and Quality have picked up crowd wise over the last 3 months or so though, you can even tell this by the amount of people who have joined the board in recent months.
I think the fact that 'every1 wants to be a dj' comes into it as people aren't giving the dj's a chance and the 'chin strokers' criticise the dj's and their tunes/mixing alot.

For instance- Scot Project took alot of stick last year and now people have took kiddy-fits coz he's playing Promise 2 months running, so fuck, he has improved immensly over the last year and he's definatley playing better music.

Timo Maas was one of the original architects behind Wet n Hard, his style having the same big bass that corvins has but being on the side of progressive rather than techno. Haven't heard much of Timos' recent stuff, but i'd probably say his style is bass heavy prog-house
