If the bar is busy and you're going to be there for a while, it's always best to tip the bar staff - you get served so much quicker next time. Plus it's a nice thing to do anyway.

tip bar staff? - they're only doing their job.. i have a different opinion for waiters/waitresses as theirs is a much longer, personal service - but someone getting me a drink?!? especially when i'm getting charged thru the nose. i'd feel like i'd have to start tipping the sharons on the Asda tills next...

    tips for where it's deserved.

but i tell them to keep 10ps and 20ps.... but i feel bad for doing that. it's like a tip - but a really cheap one. i'd rather just get the change myself than being embarassing.

Tipping is just a nice, firendly thing to do.

I wouldn't tip every time i'm at the bar, but if the service was generally polite and friendly then i'll leave the change like i said before, whether it was for a bottle, cocktail or bag of peanuts. I worked in a bar for a few years at uni, and it makes work that much nicer when you get a tip.

MoS> don't feel tight for just leaving a small tip, just think if every customer in a busy bar left 10p the staff would be getting an extra £20-30 per shift.

    tipping bar staff????

People dont tip me when im at work so why should i tip them. The only time I will tip someone in a resturant is if they are exceptional at their job

For all you tippers, do you tip postmen?

    or binmen?

    or milkmen?

    or shop assistants?

Why do people tip other professions like hairdressers and taxis? I tip bar staff because I was one for years, and know how nice it is when you do get a tip. Plus you get served quicker next time.
