To anyone whos seen sasha? in'nt he amzing? i need some back up here cos my mates having 2nd thought on going to see him!!
Log on to his site and sign up for a membership ---> www.djsasha.com Download the 'Government set from Toronto' and let him listen to the 2nd CD. He will be converted. The best prog trance set I've heard in a long time.
Re: To anyone whos seen sasha? He's arguable the most talented DJ (excluding scratch DJs) in the world. Tell your mate to buy the GU Sasha Ibiza CDs and listen to then a few times, I'm sure than will sort your problem.
anyone dubbed 'the son of god' is gonna be pretty good, and he is, blew me away when he played shindig this year... northern exposure is incredible...
sasha is a legend, got GU ibiza and san fransisco & few more 'dodgy' club mixes, seen him twice too all amazing. i think its class godskitchen have booked him, they seem to be more open minded musically since they re-opened, love to see him up here again this year
Re: To anyone whos seen sasha? Hello Nat! In all honesty I dont see what all the hype is about. When he played at Shindig in May he was no better than anyone else thats played there this year, and his set at Creamfields nearly put me to sleep. Like many of the top DJs, his reputation precedes him. *controversial* Zabiela is better than Sasha.
IMHO I think that he is really over rated. He is good but the amount people go on about him I was maybe expecting way too much last time I went to see him.
that album was (allegedley) mostly produced by JXL+ Charlie May- not sasha... wasnt bothered by it either way tho ross that creamfields set was brilliant imo!!!! 'dirty sticky floors' into 'in a a state' then 'hoochie koochie man' admittedly i only listened to it on t'wireless tho anyone who doubts his greatness should listen to northern exposure or his original essential mix...
I find his compilations better than seeing him live. His compilations have more variation and melody, when I've seen him live he can be a bit repetitive
I think he sold as many as he wanted to. I don't get the impression Sasha really craves main-stream success, if he wanted it he could be more famous than Norman Cook and Jules put together but he has never gone that way. He is to Djs what Shindig is to Clubs.
No he's become one of the most famous DJs in the world without even a hint of cheese! Fair play to him - proving that you don't have to sell out to be successful
imo he could quite easily have done an album full of prog-trancey tunes, included scorchio, be as one ect. and probably have sold more than airdrawndagger did, so says a lot about him that he wanted to do something different, a more 'musical' album if you like. it got slated by loadsa journos who expected something different, but i loved it & its still by my cd player now. i can remember pete tong saying u wont realise how good the album is until you hear it 5 years from now, although im not exactly sure what he meant its a good quote
