    trance

people complain that every trance dj plays the same songs, im not surprised, ive just looked thru most the big online vinyl stores and what a load of shit, whats happened to trance, its either airy fairy bollocks or pure cheese, and every so often a big producer like A&B will release summic which every single person into trance will buy :(
or maybe im not looking in the right places lol.

    Re: trance

i got bored with it for a bit at the start of the year. Between sort of feb and may i was struggling to buy decent trance. There was only the odd decent tune coming out so i bought a fair bit of prog instead. I'm back  ing it now though.
Take a break from it and come back in a month or 2 mate ;)

    Tbh im gonna dissagree.

Alot of the upcoming djs play the same stuff, because they dont get sent all the newer stuff so can just buy whats avaliable at the time. This is the same with every genre, every upcoming hardhouse dj plays the same things etc... Its all the known tunes becuase they want to make an impression and so they play tunes that they know will get a crowd going rather than beign original and having their own style.

I spent loads of time in the gods arena at global and the only trance tune i heard more than once all night was Randy Katana - In Silence, but to be honest i didnt mind it cos its absolutly quailty

IMO its just upcoming djs need to find their own style and take risks a bit more or everyone will be playing the same set. Its got nothing to do with the lack of productions its the lack of inovation in peoples sets.

i see your point tho, but when i acually look online for summic decent and differant, theres very little around, and every half decent tune has already been caned by everyone.

ive been playin trance for a good while now, and it happens quite often!!!, theres always a few month where there aint much out, or that i carnt get a hold of on cd, but it soon sorts itself out!!!
tbh those months i don't buy much trance i enjoy, as i buy alot more prog & breaks, so me collections get that little more broader!!

theres aload about at the mo mate if ya look in the right places!!!, just got meself some absloute gems!!! :D

I'm with Aaron on the point he is making but I think he's addressing a slightly different issue too.

Yeah, there's a lot of samey average tunes about right now, but if you look you can find some quality stuff.

Personally, for me, this year has mainly been about emerging 'new' producers rather than the big guns. John O'Callaghan, Gareth Emery, Paul Moelands, all putting quality stuff out to name just a couple.

Some of Nu-NRG's tracks that haven't been released as singles yet are great - notably Astralis and Freefall.
