hi all, am going to try and do this tutorial as iv got 3 old xb's lying about and apparently they are ok from movies up2 720p which is fine for me at the moment..

I am stuck on STEP ONE

what can i use instead of the "Chatzilla Firefox extension" mentioned (i am on vista) and what is it? is it one of these mystical FTP clients that mos and fiddla wisper under hushed tones....

Does anyone have one of these Action Reply kits too?

u need an IRC Client : http://www.mirc.com/ is what some people use. i hate them.

any other way to get the files?

i've only just bought a 360 yesterday

Off the top of my head, I used to have my network card set to 192.168.1.5 and my xbox set as 192.168.1.10 as a static ip console side and would simply ftp the files over using something like cuteftp.

Was quickest and easiest way to do it anyways.

And you should be able to get the files you need for this via torrent if you have a look around and cba to use mirc etc

Thats quite cool, I remember a few years ago hard-modding was the best way to do this. I doubt i'll do it unless I come across an action reply thingy very cheap.

Xbox is an awesome media player. Just a shame it doesnt take usb sticks or cards (werent so common at the time). Great if your near to your pc though

it's best to get the open source stuff directly from where it's developed - you could have had it by now!!!!!

post exactly what you after you go to http://xbmc.org/download/

click on the download button underneath xbmc for windows, it takes you to another page and an automatic download box appears as to which i click save file.
