Turnmills tonight.. Any of you london southern types going? I ask because, having just started my Uni course at the LSE, I am going to check it out - lineups look amazing, Timo Maas and Seaman tonight should relly rock it. Any experiences of the place, or opinions on it? Harry
Vinny (orbit) is going with Brid, and a few others. Incidentally I was going to go but can't really afford it. Good job I decided not to go like, too ill to go! Turnmills is meant to be class. I will be coming down so we can go there
Re: Turnmills tonight.. For fuck's sake Harry mate, you're at London School of Economics?! I salute you for the grades you musth ave got to get in there!!! :worship: Turnmills always have awesome lineups!
oooooooh, that was incredible. One of the best clubs, if not the best. More details to follow later, if anyone is interested Harry
... Christ im in total pieces right now :spangled: Last night was incredible - Timo Maas was just amazing, who i think just started his set when we got in at midnight. Chunky, Filthy prog was what he played and some really eclectic sounding tunes at that which sounded ace on the sound system... We all agreed that the 'gallery prog' was just amazing. It reminds me a bit of the early promise days in that respect... And since the gallery has that small intimate feel, it works even better. I defy anyone who doesn like prog not to go and have a huge smile on their face within 10 minutes of hearing it.... ahhhh amaaaazing! I managed to fall completely on my arse within minutes of hitting the dancefloor for some reason..... then the whole evening became a blur...! Seemed like i was just chilling out and taking a break in room 3 when i checked my watch and it was half 4! The night just flew by completely. Orbit came up to me at one point and said "I swear i just saw a guy that looks like USSR Patriot" - I kinda just nodded and laughed at that point.... Until who should i see in the chill out room but USSR PATRIOT! Ran up to him and we all knocked about together for the rest of the night - what a pleasant surprise and very dedicated of the man to come by himself! Apologies to Wet and Hard who had to listen to me and Vinny argue over whether or not dave seaman actually played that night for a while. There was a bald guy behind the decks (with a face mask on!) playing stuff which sounded very much like dave seaman but it just didnt look like him.... this discussion went on till about 4.30-5am when another bald guy came on.... We had convinced ourselves at that point (well me and orbit) that seaman never played - meanwhile the music seemed to sound very familiar... Infusion, Group Therapy, Cass... it didnt click till about 6am when Orbit went to the DJ box area and came back confirming that dave seaman was the guy playing all those 'Seaman Esque' tracks.... hahaha.... Talk about battered. We left at 6.30am.... goosed to the max and drifted off in various directions. Took me till about 7.45 to get home and ive had about 1 hours kip in total. Complete mess here. BUT - BRILLIANT BLOODY NIGHT. Once again the Gallery never fails to impress! Cheers for a great night lads
Class night. Timo was already on when we got in and was outstanding. Shindig should book him for a 5 hour set. I really could have listened to that chunky filthy sound all night. No idea who was on after that. But he was good, kept me on the dancefloor. By about 430, with no sign of Seaman, we had pretty much given up on him showing (espesh after his Shindig no-show). Didnt then notice the djs changing (too battered probably). Kept sayin to Brid "Seaman tune this one". Brid turned round at one point and said "shame Seaman hasnt turned up, but this is still class, i love this style of trancey prog, its just like Seaman sounded last time". Taxi for the battered lads, there was a very good reason for it sounding like him, it was him. Doh! Think i lost a few hours in there somewhere. :spangled: Tracks like the following might have been a hint- Guy Gerber - Stoppage Time Scissor Sisters - Mary (Mylo mix) Starsailor - Sharkfood (Group Therapy mix) Group Therapy - My Own Worst Enemy Kosmas Epsilon - Shame Above & Beyond presents Tranquility Base - Surrender (Filterheadz mix) Every time i heard tracks like the above, it should have registered for me to look in the dj box to see who was playing. But i just kept dancing in my own little world thinking "this guy plays very similar to Seaman". In the end i went up and spotted Dave at about 600. Told Brid, got him to come along, and Dave had vanished!!!!!! Brid thought i was seeing things, it confused my for a while, then i was convinced i must have been hallucnating. Then we spied him and all was well. Just say no kidz. :spangled: Class club though, love the lighting. Good crowd. Always enjoy my trips daaan saaarf.
Sound's like a totally mint night, always good when you have some imaginary sighting thrown in! I think I'll have a trip down with you's one time, sounds totally amazing lads! Glad you's had a brilliant night!
