Just watched this now.. Totally gutted for Chuck!

He's one of my favorite fighters purely cos he always puts on a show of punching power and less of the slower ground game that you see with the majority of other matchups. However, he seriously lost out by lowering lis left land defense after that body shot :(

Unfortunate but it had to happen sooner or later. I look forward to the rematch as that knockout was pretty much a lucky counter. Even though Chuck lay flat after the 2nd of 3rd strike on the ground, he would have turned his body had Big J not stepped in and maybe he could have worked his way out of it.

    72! :d

Hmmm, think Chuck had it comin here, his gut has been expanding the last couple of fights, he don't look as sharp as he has been.

Still, was a close call by Big JM...he did look out in the replay...i'd have liked another couple of fists to land on Chucks mush to be sure like, there'd be no complaining of an early stoppage then.

:( dont really know what to say !!
was fair play,he was beyond help at the point of 3 rd punch.
JM has to abide by the rules and stop any unnessesary punches.
as random says i would like to have seen a floor struggle to see if chuck could have recovered but the new rules wont allow

rematch will be cool but i'm sick of all the re-matching crap in ufc nowadays.if you lose i thnk you should go to bottom of the ladder and work your way to the top again before making a fortune from re-match after re-match.

It's all about pleasing the fans though. A rematch like that is more exciting than your average matchup and it's fair to say that if you're the best, you're gonna end up fighting in the main event sooner or later so i have no problem with the way it all works tbh :)

It wasnt lucky at all. He dropped his gaurd and got smashed by a well timed overhand right. Rampage won fair and square .

It's both. Like i said, if you're the best you're going to end up in the main event sooner or later regardless of how the fight cards are chosen.

    Re: Re: UFC 71 [Spolier]

Aye he did but it was one of those fights where neither of the fighters are tired or hurt yet one strike ends it early. It's lucky in a way that rampage had the opportunity to do that, is what I meant to say :p

Just watched this now, deserved victory for Jackson, Chuck had no chance of getting back into it if it hadnt been stopped, Chuck deserves his rematch but with the introduction of the pride fighters hes should have to prove hes number one contender before he gets it
