    Vinyl or digital

This argument again but i feel i can contribute to it more now that i have started using digital mixing equipment (traktor/ableton)

So do people still think that vinyl has a future?

I'm in awe of Traktor to be honest its by far the best bit of kit i've come across in years.

Its as good as using 4 decks and a top spec mixer and if you really want/need to you can link up your own mixer/decks then use final scratch for that 'genuine feel'

I was considering getting decks again but not after gettin this!!

    Argue on  :p

I went from traktor, to vinyl, to cd's.

Its impossible to do more than one thing at once on traktor unless you want to

    a) look like a moron tapping away at a keyboard and spend hours mapping controls to buttons

    b) spend money on a controller for it

Traktor might be the cheapest option, but i certaintly dont trust it not to break down at a crucial point, and theres no 'feel' to the music. FOR ME

Ultimately i prefer vinyl, i do use cd's but only for unreleased tracks that i can download (legally) that might never see the light of day on vinyl - eventually i think this method of legal download stores and cd/mp3 mixing will become more common place due to the relative cheapness of it all.

Traktors good but i think you need a proper controller to get the best out of it.

Traktor is excellent but its true power isnt with playing live unless you have a really good controller (and know how to use it!)

Traktor is amazing for remixing tracks and creating new ones and exporting them. I mainly use it for testing out mixes and testing out acapellas over tracks.

CD's seem to be the future although i still do use final scratch vinyl because i cant afford CDjs
