    From purely scientific terms the egg.

    Chickens evolved from other birds who already laid egg's over a long period of time.

    So the first true chicken was prob laid by another bird very similar to a chicken but not quite the same

    i'm a believer in the chicken. merely on grounds that birds evolved from dinosaurs - which indeed came from eggs, however they must have crawled from a soup of some kind.

    rendering a stupid thread resolved.
