Where is the Trance nites in nucastle??? yeah indeed. Can someone in the party city of the Uk of GB please explain what has happened to the Trance scene? Gone has possible one of the best nites nucastle has seen that being PROMISE. Its starting to get frustrating to grab an overnite bag and head away from Toon.Fair do Promise only moved to makem land but that has left Geordieland with nowt Surely some promoters out there can see this black hole of a gap in the clubbin market and do something about it. Not impressed
i thought the decision to originally end promise was that it struggled when smaller names were put on as not enough people supported those nights. when bigger names were on like JJ, lashes and scallywell it was packed with townies but lost its appeal to others. someone correct me if im wrong, but thats what reading this board suggested. put simply, trance isnt as big as it used to be and its certainly not 'cool', personally i dont like any new trance, classics yes but new stuff does nothing for me... it may make a comeback one day but promise's best days are over by the looks of it.
promise faded, its not an encouraging sign for a new promoter to begin a night + it would need a good venue which aint always easy, then it would have to compete with other established nights. that coupled with the fact that there just might not be enough people willing to support a big trance night on a regular basis. junior g has just started up at cosmic ballrooms though, see how that turns out.
Well seeing as no one else has told him yet: Junior G - The Cosmic Ballrooms (old stagedoor) 9th June 06, 10 - 3 Jon Obir John O'Callaghan Barry Connell Mark Maitland
Junior G is the new Trance night mate The cosmic ballroom (Formally the stage door) monthly. 1st one was last week - John Askew/Shan headlining. 9th June the next with Jon O'bir and John O'callaghan If that doesnt appeal then i'll personally buy you a ticket out of the Toon
Junior G is a fucking crap name for a clubnight. Sounds like some fucking downmarket sleazy drinks for a quid affair at club ikon
They probably didn't want to nick an idea from Cream though so opted for Junior G. Personally I think just leaving it as Goodgreef would've been better but, fuck the name - it was still a good night.
