I think Man Utd need to invest the money in top drawer midfielders, i think they were embarrassed in the CL final and Fergie needs to realise that the likes of Park, Scholes now, maybe even Giggs now, Fletcher, Nani etc are not of the same class that Barca have in their side, and while its good enough to win the PL they came up massively short against an unbelieveable Barca side.

Ribery would be my no.1 choice like, hes a fucking quality footballer who has massively impressed me whenever i have seen him play. They would be lacking a goalscorer as well, and unless Berbatov steps up to the plate this year like he didnt do last season, they need someone who will get them 20+ goals to replace the goals that Ronaldo would have got them.

People are assuming this money will go to find his replacement, there are other factors at Man U at the moment. Hargreaves looks fucked and will probably need replacing, and I have a sneaking suspicion (okay hope) that Ferdinand is fucked! i think Benzema would be a great signing, but then again i though Huntelaar would have been a world beater when we went to Real Madrid and that one hasn't happened yet. you can never really tell how players are going to do when they go from a lower profile league into one of the big 3

to be honest they arn't going to replace Ronaldo like for like, so he will have to change the system slightly to a more structured 11 instead of having 2 players (Ronaldo and Rooney) playing in almost free roles. Ribery would be a great signing as well.

I wouldnt have Ribery personally, hes only proven in the Bundesliga and dont think the standard is up to much. Would be a risk bringing him to the Premiership he could be another big money flop at Old Trafford. I think Valencia is a good safe bet and can probably get him cheaper than the £20 mil quoted by Wigan if they hold out for him.
