It would break the night for approx 1 minute @ every DJ change over. Is that overkill? Customers would be able to show there appreciation for the DJ that has played & then give the next DJ a 'PROMISE/NORTH EAST' welcome. I am not wanting Techno T saying "That was the powersound of DJ Morris make some noise, are you ready for Doctorrrrrrrrr" Somebody with a competent voice saying something like 'Promise show your appreciation for DJ X ....................Can you give DJ Y a Promise welcome' It would help the atmosphere as well
I remember the first Picotto night @ Promise, the guy with the Mike announced him as Mario Picotto make me smile anyway
aaahhh but i jus tmeant if sum random man did it, the djs allowed to talk over their sets, especially if their first name is jules!! haha think i remember the person that said mario picotto hahaha that amused me no end it cracks me up when ur out n get talking to random clubbers that get the dj's name wrong or even better think the dj thats on is sumone completley different thats happened with lil randoms i've bin talking to on more than one occassion!! xxx
I don't think its a bad idea as long as they keep it short. Morillo came on the mic about 4 times last week,it definetly added to the atmosphere
it was richard who used to announce them at promise wasn't it??? sorry rachel but i used to cringe when jules would try and make everyone scream for one more at the end of crasher!!!eek!! when i played vision some guy came and plugged the mic in and asked me if i wanted to say anything????:spangled:
I recon a little introduction would do no harm....mind you most of the dj's who play at promise dont need an introduction. I know when i was running my night i always used to introduce the guest dj's...not the residents.
i think maybe saying their name is ok, but keep it to a minimum!!! although promise is a pretty small club so you can always see which dj is on anyway!
I agree with Spence on this. I don't really see any big problem in announching a djs name. Just to give them a big applause at the end of there set. If done in a very professional manner, I can't see there being a problem. Dave- That guy at Vision looked canny mad like, no wonder. You should of done a big shout out for your fans haha lol!! I thought it was Mark who used to do the talking?? :spangled:
It was bad when he used to do this. There was always an embarrasingly low response which was in no way his fault of course!
Re: Re: Announcer Without a doubt!!! Eddie deserves everyone chanting his name! I can just remember a thread about this night, reading a post somewhere along the lines of Matt going off without any noise made for him. Just thought a Announcer take this away.....
