    something that you don't mind getting dirty. ie work clothes.

    Put it this way mate, i got in at 9.45... by 10.45 i had finished, and walked to boldon :lol: :lol:

    I think each test took me no more than a minute. 5 minutes was the max it took all together, maybe 10 if ya include chit chat with the dude lol

    nah! You'll more than likely work the 2 shift pattern, earlies one week then lates the next.

    earlies
    mon-thurs
    7am - 3.18 (then possible 1 hr overtime added)

    fri
    7am til 2.53 (no overtime can be added)


    lates
    mon thurs
    4.35pm - 12.53am (possible 1.5hr overtime)

    fri
    3.10 - 11.03pm (no overtime)

    That's all there is unless you wanna start as a trainee who goes to college to do some shit qualification in manufacturing and get's paid about 8k a year. You have to work there still while you're studying. The incentive is, you get a permanent contract at the end.woooooooohoooooo

    Or there's maintenance technician apprenticeships which pay little at first aswell.

    Aye i think thats the kinda pattern ill be set to work.

    The place is fuckin huuuuuuuuuge. Its like a giant sweatshop cept they dont make Nike :lol:

    Some dude walked past me when i was in the plant pushing some big metal trolley thing, he was following the lines on the floor and the trolley was playing the music from ET :lol: , i was a bit miffed by that :D

    remerchandising supermarkets, the moneys good, but the regularity of the work is shit, and im sick of working away.

    the thing ive applied for is manufacturing staff, is that just basically the lowest kind of worker ?

    It's what most people are yeah, it's not the lowest paid because you'll be in the p2 salary band.

    I wouldn't leave your job if i were you.

    i dont wanna leave it, but the works not regular and i need some money for a car. at the minute i havent worked for like nigh on three weeks. i can always go back to it if or when i get finished by nissan.

    this p2 salary band, how much roughly is that a month then ?

    Go for it then mate. Let me nah if you get tests or owt and I'll give you some advice.

    Everyone starts thinking they're only staying for a while to make a bit money but then they end up there the rest of there lives regretting ever setting foot in the place.

    You'll start on what anderz said! 1365 before tax plus 12%.

    You'll probs come out with between £1100-£1200 a month, but with all the overtime you're working which is paid time and a half it'll be more like £1600-£1700

    When I was doing all that overtime I was getting pay like £1900 after tax. I don't much now though because I'm on permanent day shift.:cool2:
