    Another if anyone fancies it :lol: You all love doing them really

    Four machines - an excavator, a dumper truck, a scraper and a crane operate independently of each other. The percentage of time they are utilised are

    Excav = 50%
    Dumper = 40%
    Scraper = 70%
    Crane = 30X

    i) Determine the chance of the excavator and the dumper truck not being used at any interval of time.

    ii) Calculate the chance of all machines being busy.

    iii) Calculate the chance of all machines being idle.

    im not being funny or owt, but this calculus is the lowest level stuff and its in a pure maths form. getting other peolple to solve this little lot will get you through this assignment or whatever, but what are you gona do under exam conditions, when you dont have access to this website, and the questions are exponentially harder?
    what degree are you studying?

    Yeah your right your not funny.

    Doing a Civil Engineering masters degree. No maths exams. Only doing one unit in pure maths.

    Come on then hotshot. When would i ever, ever have to use intergretion or differentiation for that matter in the Civil Engineering workplace so really gettin some mates to help me with this will in fact get me through this and i will never have to think about it again.

    i had exams in this, but ive never used it working in electrical engineering to be fair, so if youre sure you wont need it to get though any exams, or in your career in the future then i wouldnt worry about it.

    Argh I'm having horrible flashbacks to A-Level Maths.. I can't believe I actually considering doing a Maths degree. I've never worked so hard at anything as I did in A-Level Maths.. it paid off though as I got an A. :D

    Can't remember anything from it now though. :(
