For 20k you can pick up a second hand.. decent milage.. 4.2l TVR Tuscan :)

    TBH.. you have loadsa choices..
I saw a BMW 318 CI goin for 10K in AT the other week,
2003 Reg, 30K on the clock..
    Not a bad deal..

Check out the auto marques magazine first if you wanna buy a decent ~20K car.. there are some mint deals to be had in there.. bar the lambos etc..

Why would anyone want all of 120 BHP in a car the size of a beemer is beyond me. Then once you see all the switch blanks on the inside of the car for all the options you dont get with the poorest mans spec version..... id be gutted that id bought a piece of crap with a bmw badge on it.

Theres far better out there for the same money .... too many people think owning a bmw is like youve ´made it´ ........ not when im screaming past you in my GTV you wont hehe.

@Chandler_90 - Dont need a fast car mate im not the racing type anymore. That spec sounds like what im gonna be going for im not buying a new car due to the money you loose driving it out of the garage im gonna go for a 2-3 yr old model and hopefully pay about 10k over 4 years and get my moneys worth

@brid - you dont understand mate I just need a nice drive and reliable car for my works car im not bothered about speed my boy racer days are behind me plus this image that people have of BMW drivers doesnt bother me aslong as I know im in a car that I like and that I know will last me 4-5 years.
With the GTV comment it sounds like your a bit of a boy racer, I used to be too mate many years ago when I was a wee lad but now ive grew out of it so all I need is a nice reliable car which im hoping the bmw will be.

i used to drive a bmw 328i convertible - it must have been into the garage at least 3 times a year with something majorly wrong with it. was nearly always the electrics though. either way i'd never buy a bmw. the dealership aftersales service was appalling too.

Not really a fan of the A3 unless its the S model and they are going for 13k plus and its a bigger engine so it'll hammer me on fuel and running costs

I like BMW's but i can't afford one at the minute.

Thing with me is, if i bought anything other than an M3 i'd be driving about in a BMW (insert whichever inferior beemer you want) which would always be 2nd best to me anyway :(

Its like buying a Porsche Boxter  If you're gonna splash out that much wait till you can afford a 911 :D

    Thats just me though :)

Yeah I know what you mean but in reality although its a lesser car its also 23k less in price to the m3 aswell. I suppose at a later date theres always the option to upgrade the interior to m3 spec to make it a little better but for me I wouldnt be that arsed. Its all about running costs for me because of the mileage I do an m3 just wouldnt be practical I'd prefer to have the rx7 as the weekend car and use that for my fun

Well there is that small jump in price to think of i suppose :p

Don't do that  Its the same as sticking 16v or turbo stickers/badges all over your car when you've done absolutely naff all to the engine (and the car isn't a 16v or a turbo)

    Flash cunt  ;)

No not upgrading the interior, just updating it to a leather trim isnt like sticking stupid stickers all over the car its just making it look a bit better.

    and thanks, i think :p

Ive got an 88 M5 had it 12 years now and it still runs perfect with 320k on the clock. Changing it later this year for either an X5 or M3, havent made my mind up yet. But havent ruled out a 911.

Well said Sir, couldn't agree more!!!

New base models are like 20 grand and its unbelievably sparse. Plain, boring, uninspiring. And ugly!

Of couse get up the range and then we are talking about a car....

Down to personal preference but you ARE just paying for the badge, there are far better cars for that money.

A4 gets my vote. Craps all over the equivalent priced 3 series and it's much prettier.
