Nail on head tbh. Signed for free, sold for £7m+ (and his goals in the meantime went a big way to getting us into Europe again). Good business done all round. Still a better deal than Fletcher to Sunderland eh? ;)

I hope he likes warming benches at his new club, because I can't honestly see him competing with their current lineup up front for a regular start.

Don't think our hearts were in it today. Saying that though, the thought of PL, Europe, and an FA Cup run doesn't bare thinking about. So, at least now we can focus on the PL and winning the Europa League!

Good luck signing a decent striker who wants to play at the bottom of the league

NUFC or SAFC? Not a great result for you's either

We couldn't beat a Championship side, and neither could you

IF you beat Bolton at the second time of asking, good luck against Everton, remember last season...

Well we signed a good right back. Good luck to Sunderland signing anybody decent ever

I really, honestly cannot see what all the SAFC lot are harping on at, you are no better than we are, maybe you should take a look at yourselves eh?

Not you of course Congay, you don't count because you aren't a real football anyway...

we're gonna need a bigger boat!

the clue was in this bit

i've got a muddy ball print on my window, off nile ranger's 'effort'..

the difference being that we drew and you got beat..yes, we were 2 goals down but came back and also could have won it...your lot were absolutely toothless, no positives and on performances and with players like that (even your manager said they weren't good enough..good for young players morale), then you really are going to struggle..

everton are a very good team IMO..nevermind last season, how did you get on against them, the other night?

do you think that signing a right back is going to kick start your season? chances of mike ashley spending some money on strengthening your squad? pardiola looks exhausted..his hair's almost gone chestnut..

'Good luck to Sunderland signing anybody decent ever'

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

in all seriousness, i think who MON brings in, will either show he's still got his finger on the pulse after being out for so long, or show him to be out of touch..i hope he does buy well and prove that form is temp, class is permanent...

we ARE better than you, only a couple of points worth, but for bragging rights when we're both doing badly - i'll settle for that..

i'll save you typing the next bit....now, you can concentrate on europe, as you'll never see a mackem in milan.

I'd rather not go out to a championship side at mid-day on ITV but I really couldn't care less that we're out of the F.A Cup. No way we'll win the Europa either but I don't doubt for a second that we'll finish higher in the league.

Two points in it between 14th and 15th positions... two bad teams basically, I expect us to improve though with players coming back from injury and I'm confident we'll replace Ba with quality (did I just say that!?!).

You are right about that last thing you mentioned though... I was there and I didn't see any!

And another thing... Don't criticise Nile, man. He's just learning how to play football again. Scraping the barrel or what!

nile ranger...haha...if you tolerate this, then xisco will be next...

we're both having a very poor season, but i'd imagine you'll be more pissed off than i am?..

I'd actually forgotten about him... things aren't as desperate as I thought hahaha.

I'm probably more disappointed than pissed off, more than half way through the season and its like we still haven't clicked. Last season was a massive surprise and I never thought we'd emulate it but the football I've been watching has been shocking for most of this one. We've been unlucky with injuries but that's football, it just highlights how weak our squad actually is. We've got a good starting 11 when fit but our young squad players are miles away in my opinion.

How would you lot perform with all your key players missing? Similar to us I reckon (in fact, you were doing worse than us with all your key players available...) We haven't had a 100% full strength first eleven for the entire season so far. The squad depth / backup players aren't good enough, and that is Ashley's fault for not strengthening more in the summer. I could name an entire eleven of first team regulars who were injured / missing on Saturday.

Facts - Cuellar is garbage, Saha and McFadden haven't even played, Rose has done ok (he's only on loan), Johnson has so far been a waste of £10m or whatever you paid for him, and Fletcher has done ok as well (still not convinced he's a £10m striker mind). Who did O'Neill sign for you's last season - Wayne feckin Bridge and that awful Greek defender. So I stand by what I said, O'Neill has yet to prove himself in the market the last 2 seasons.

You still couldn't beat a Championship side. Should you have even been 2-0 down in the first place against the likes of Bolton??? So bravo, well done, slow hand claps all round, for maybe getting at least one round further than us in the cup. We'll let you have that one, congrats.

Our squad as it is could never have coped with an FA Cup run on top of league and Europe. Personally I think that Pardew secretly didnt mind losing the game on Saturday just so we didnt have the extra fixtures. We wouldn't have won the cup anyway, so best to go out now, than have a pointless, fruitless fixture pile-up.

Of course a right-back isn't going to kick-start our season, I never said it would, but it's a good start to the transfer window in strengthening a dodgy defence with a good player. I'm convinced we will get at least 2 more players, 1 cb, 1 striker to replace Ba, then we'll see us kick on, i'm sure of it.

One win for us and defeat for you's and the whole situation is reversed, us above you, so don't get too ahead of yourselves.

I'm willing to bet money that we'll finish above SAFC this season.

I read the first four words of that "Facts - Cuellar is garbage" and then started giggling mumberling Mike Williamson.

My G/F patted me on the shoulder and passed me another cup of tea.

    Nice.

    james, suck it in man...

all of your key players missing? are we talking about the match on saturday, or the last 10 games or so?

anyway, i thought you said "we're back!" the other week?

i'm not denying o'neill has to prove himself..see one of my previous posts...cuellar is indeed poor and i'm hoping he'll be shipped out by the end of the season...saturday's slip up was awful and backs up that he isn't of the standard that's required...he'll not have been with us for too long..can you say the same as some of the garbage that's been with you for seasons and who you're not relying on to pull you out of the shit? once again, i'll use nile ranger as an example....

we didn't beat bolton, but we've got another go at them, after being 2 down...brighton have turned you over twice now? you were 1 down and didn't look like pulling one back and practically rolled over, whereas we picked ourselves up and almost got the win....

'pardew secretly didn't mind losing on the game on saturday'.......get yourself a caravan outside kfc on the bigg market mate...

I was talking about players who O'Neill had bought. Pardew didn't buy Williamson, Hughton did, and yes he's garbage, I never said anything to the contrary.

We've been without Ben Arfa, Cabaye and both Taylors for months...

The same Brighton that beat you in the League Cup? Last season was it?

I'll not mention your HOME game v Middlesbrough...

    1) he wasn't BOUGHT, he was a free transfer

MON has BOUGHT 2 players, as far as i'm aware

    2) aye, the same team that've beaten you TWICE
