that quote of mine, does it say that i thought we'd beat them, or we've got another go at them? a simple "yes it does" or "no it doesn't" will suffice... as for last night's game, we had enough good chances in the first half to probably have put the game, beyond their reach..sadly, we didn't convert them..the 2nd half, we were rubbish..no excuses...
Had we pulled our finger out with Debuchy and Douglas early in the season when 'we were in for them' I think damage limitation, or the thought of panic buying wouldn't have even provoked discussion given our current circumstance. We didn't buy, didn't capitalise on last seasons efforts, didn't do any business, despite knowing we would have a relentless programme now that we were in the EL. Ashley gambled again on the already thread bare squad we had and it's bit us, big time. Truth is, we will not be able to replace Colocini any time soon, or in Mike Ashley's language 'a cheaper available alternative'. I think Colo cost us £10m when we signed him and there isn't a hope that he will shell out anywhere close to that figure that during this window. Come May it might just prove our downfall. QPR seemingly buying their way into another season, which at the moment doesn't seem like a bad idea.
nice to see you're not hiding away james do you think these are panic buys, or players alan carr and staff, have been tracking for a long time?
I don't think they are panic buys at all, I think we are now buying the players we should have bought in the summer. We made a mistake in the summer only buying Anita and a couple of kids. Pardew thought the youngsters would be good enough to come in and do a decent job, and probably didnt account for the amount of injuries we've had. He's been badly let down by a lot of the kids, who just haven't been good enough (with the exception of Bigirimana). If we'd made these signings in the summer we wouldn't be where we are now. We've been linked with Mbiwa and Sissoko (and Debuchy) for a long time, since before the Euros, so I think they are players Carr's been tracking for a while. That's how we work these days. I think they are good all good signings, and I can see them gelling quickly because of the French contingent already there. I don't care where they are all from, as long as they are decent. Now I honestly believe we'll kick on, put the poor first-half of the season behind us and have a decent second-half of the season. Can I ask you this? You've brought in 2 players (both French-speaking by the way), and I was reading that O'Neill wants to buy 2 or 3 more. If you do get them, making a total of 4 or 5 players, would you say you were panic buying, or just "strengthening"?
strengthening, without a doubt.. MON is still working with essentially, steve bruce's buys etc..a lot of dead wood to get rid of and he's slowly shifting them out..what seems to have been said in the press is that no one leaves until cover is found - which is the sensible way of going about matters.
Right player. Right attitude. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newc...igning-on-fee-to-move-to-nufc-72703-32675000/
Wilfred Bony according to the rags. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...em-and-Ivory-Coast-striker-Wilfried-Bony.html
not a very high price mate, 3-2, have that. Sissoko - wow! Add to that Remy's torn groin and something about losing to Reading and that's a decent weekend. Where' that 7 point gap gone?
