Bank Charges

Aye, you can claim back charges on credit cards and store cards too.

I didnt choose to be in this situation, I think I did quite well considering me circumstances. Ive got a nice little savings account I hadnt planned on anyway!

Ehhhhhhhhh, I'm only owed £289 not inc interest for the last 6 years, I thought I used to get charged every month. £105 of that are from Sky ddrs that were fraud. I'm disappointed that I handled my money better than I thought.

I would honestly say im looking at AT LEAST 3 grand. ive been unemployed for 4 months now and the charges have been insane

I bank with Barclays now and the daftys still think I'm an employee, so i don't get charged because it's a staff account.

I wanna know how to send to Visa's n that, just edit the letter?

I have me one for Barclays ready, dunno how it will fair up ?!?!

If you go on www.consumeractiongroup.com there's a message board somewhere on it with a section for help with barclaycard and other credit cards.

You can do this with pretty much any penalty charge you've had, like late payment of gas leccy and phone bills for example.

I have sent off me one to Barclays yest so await there reply and as for the Visa's it will happen in due course.

Sent my initial letter off with the 10 quid cheque yesterday.

Completely off topic but I've just rang my bank (lloyds TSB) and got put straight through to an english call centre.. and my query and payment were sorted within 5 minutes.

No shite advertising other deals etc.. quick and easy.

It looks like banks are finally starting to take notice.

Its a mile away from the service I recieved 3 months ago.. where I got put through to an asian representative.. took ages to get through loads of security questions and ages repeating what I wanted to do. And then months later after being ensured my account was Zero'd and ready to be closed.. I go online to find out that it had been charged.. then hit with an overdraft charge.. then an interest charge.. and then another account charge

I was impressed that natwest have 24 hour call centres when I lost my wallet, it all got sorted with minimum fuss at 5am!

I have got about £500 from three different banks, and Scott got over £3k back from his MBNA credit card.

You have to write a few letters and perhaps pay up front for court costs which you can claim back, but as an hourly rate, it's still very worthwhile.

Are you able to ask your bank for backdated records of what charges theyve charged you?

yeah, they're called statements.

We kepe getting updates at work of what to do with customer complaints of charges. We have to have a list just in a spreadsheet of the charge, the date, the amount, and the title of the charge as it appears on the account, a total of all charges with a covering letter. We fax it off to the service centre and they take it from there. i sent off my boyfriends on thursday so will let you know how fast we're doing it at the mo!

If you're with Floyds TSB you can go back 4 years on there online banking. I'm not sure about other banks, I don't think ym barclays one goes back that far though.
