a large number of chinese just enter pinyin and use US keyboards... The problem isn't the keyboard its the language (it isn't phonetical and the written language a seperate to the oral language... there are also regional languages).

I don't understand what your saying, the Chinese are one of the most advanced IT nations on this planet.... if there language was going to hold them back - they wouldn't be at the place they are now.

I employ programmers, printers and graphic designers in China... they're just as competant as any British operation.

Thankfully for the time being, the whole IT/CallCentre outsourcing 'experiment' has been a big mess and the jobs we were told we would lose to asia - havent.

The chinese and indians are competant programmers and designers - but cultural and distance 'differences' will (for the time being) mean that we dont have much to worry about.

Most people ive spoken to with regards to outsourcing projects, have all said they ended up ditching outsourced projects, bit the bullet and employed people in the UK.

Still ... that cant last forever.

... Moreso for IT than call centres, although with time i think we might see more than a steady flow of 'inshoring' of call centre jobs.

where on earth do you get this from?

there is a massive migration of jobs from both call centres and IT from the west to India/China.

As part of the industry touted as being at risk of being offshored, and from reading trade magazines, and talking to various business owners and directors .... alot of them have said they tried offshoring but it turned out to be more expensive than just hiring competant UK staff.

IT development hasnt been successful at being offshored in any great manner.
