there is still so much racism in the workplace that they can be overlooked for promotion and get the lower paid jobs.

i know a lot who have to work 2 or 3 jobs to support their families.

i don't really think you can put a racial stereotype on people who leach off the system, as race isn't a determinate of wether a person will do so.

Only last Friday I witnessed racism inflicted on Asians. I live on Coatsworth Road (I know, not the nicest place), and walked along to the shop to get some energy drinks before good old Quality. Just before I got there, a couple of charvs decided to walk out infront of a car driven by an old Asian guy and other Asians (looked Indian). What followed was a foul mouth tirade of racist threats, expletives, kicks against the front bumpers, V signs etc. I very much doubt if this got reported to the police. Second time I've seen an incident like it in a month around here.

We don't like to admit it, but this country is racist and ignorant as fuck. I have experianced it for myself. I lived in South Africa from ages 5 - 13, and the level of ignorance from English people when I got back here was amazing ("Did you have black slaves?" or "Did you have toliets and TV?" seemed to be favourites"). Ofcourse when I argued that we did have toilets, television (ironically with more English footy on than here) etc, and said it was infact more modern than Britain in many ways (better road system etc) I got told, "Well if it was so great why don't you fuck off back there then!"

so? this happens everywhere... what, you think its only the british who are ignorant and racist? out of interest did you never experience any racism towards yourself in south africa?

when i lived in america i worked and lived in jewish country club and reguarly had questions like the ones you had..

regular ones where "do you guys have computers/tv/electricity in england?"...

the worst one was when i was filling in a golf score card, one of the kids asked me if we had pencils over here

the rascism and pure hatred showed by some of the people i worked for (the members) towards myself and the guys i was working with - chinese/hispanic/italian/eastern europeans was unbelivable.

these are people who are deemed to be highly intelligent - nearly all graduated from ivy league schools and are extremley wealthy...

its not just this country thats ignorant and racist... its the human race as a whole... its spans all religions and all nations.
