If you don't agree with how agencies operate, then don't use them. Simple.

In theory that sounds great !!, the sad thing is, the way things are going, it`s going to become more of a temporary market.
the benefits of working a full time permanant job will be lost, holiday pay, sick pay, moral issues....

then the problem of talking to some cunt at an employment agency acting as though you owe them one for them finding you a job,(not to say they`re all like that) , When most importantly your the one with the skills to suite the job.

my opinion...If temporary employment is needed, the governemt should set up a type of plan, so employee`s can work one on one with the company there working for, paying a higher rate to employee`s for temporary employment , plus this giving an insentive for the company to take people on full time

    cheers

The government brought in legislation recently entitling temps to the same holidays as their permanent counterparts, plus other rights as well...

It's not as clear cut as you make out.

I'm sorry but that is absolute bollocks.

The "legislation" is there to protect both employers and employees, and to give them certain rights.

My girlfriend works at Citizens advice and helps out with employment cases on a daily basis, many of them are easily resolved by simply making clients aware of the law and their rights and obligations under it.

You are talking about something you know nothing about.

Fair play. But there are too many and the crap ones just give the whole industry a bad name.

My experience with recruitment agencies has been about 95% shit

    - failure to reply to messages
    - failure to get back to me regarding job apps
    - turning me down for jobs I could do with my eyes closed
    - suggesting jobs far below my capability (in call centres, for example)

    stuff like that!

However, ironically, it's becuase of their shit service that I am now in the job I'm in....so I suppose I'm not really that fussed looking back

Rachel puts ads on websites like monster for jobs at her place, then these agencies use the ads and off there own back find a person for that job and then try and claim some kind of "finders fee" or sum shit. Proper fucked up!

Yeh it's mad in recruitment, you spend all day most days developing your business areas/industries & other recruitment agencies call up pretending to be candidates applying for certain jobs you have advertised, asking where it is & the company name etc... etc... then they'll contact the business once they have enough info themselves & undercut you with agreed rates.

The group that runs the Quality Hotels in town has gone into admin, workers told they had 20 mins to do one, customers also told 20 mins, people not at the hotel allowed to collect things then leave.

Empire Direct gone into admin as well.
