Thats one of the most ridiculous statements Ive ever heard ! :D

Saying something is shite just because its not your cup of tea is awfully silly as it all comes down to personal opinions.

Maybe someone into hard dance would be better qualified to say if the line-up was shit or not ?

see melt this is why I think youre a total cock.

at least people like jimi have the balls to call a spade a spade... you're a racist little prick that lacks the spine to speak his mind.

You're also a mug of the highest order, some of your most loyal fans and co-promoters give you valuable advice and you throw a temper tantrum telling them you're never going to put on another party on????

Your night means fuck all to the north east mate... there are much better underground clubs and you and I both know you're not an established night.

Get over yourself, your night will not be missed.

I've never organised a night, and I wouldn't know where to start.

Therefore I will not lecture Melt on how to be a 'perfect' promoter, or how to run a 'good' night. I think you cynical lot should do the same, as you wouldn't know where the fuck to begin basically. If any of you want to disagree and show me how a promoter is supposed to act, go organise your own night instead of fucking whinging like a hormonal 13 year old girl.

As for his attitude, you have to be confrontational to organise anything successfully, unless you have shit loads of money to throw around. *EDIT* Unless you are aiming at a very niche market of people into a certian style of music, such as Backlash, metal nights and so on (which Detox does not IMO - it aims at a broad demographic of 'clubbers')

bollocks i know plenty of promoters and melts the only one that acts like a little child.

most of them appreciate and respect their punters... melt seems to think the detox crowd is indebted to him; after all he saved dance music :spangled:

Plenty of people promote nights successfully without being confrontational, even those without loads of money and/or a niche market.

I have to laugh, There arnt any co-promoters

I do 99% of it myself

people are not offering advice they are sticking their oar in, trying to get me to pull other local djs off the list so they get to play
and generally badmouthing a night that has showcased some of their close friends 4 or 5 times on lineups no one else would put them on
then ... when they dont get to play or I dont take their poor advice they throw a strop and decide to not support us any more

I take plenty of advice when its good advice from the likes of fidla, man of science, phil cogan , janet, baxter etc...

and fior the record joe!!! the word i wasnt using was gangsters

word on the street is there s a few that you have upset in your time on here

and what goes around comes around dude

    :D

or do you not believe in karma?

lulu and earl have done loads for detox, you're a two faced cunt if you say otherwise.

i'm starting to think you have a mild personality disorder melt... you boast all the common symptons for aspergers.

I've been pissing off people on this site for over 6 years and I haven't come unstuck yet mate... so keep dishing out your empty threats and I'll continue to grief your empty nights

    who said they havnt?

stop trying to stir it "mate"

your inherent overconfidence is your weakness

we know it was you who tried to screw us over at the march detox twice whether you admit to that or not

a night that turns away 50-70 from the door , has 600 plus in and does 1 in 1 out is hardly empty

you need to have a word with yourself

instead of hiding on scenes where no one will ever bump into you

I think this thread proves that you shouldnt mix business with pleasure .... or you'll run yourself into an early grave.

Personally, i think your setting yourself up for a fall if you rely on people being 'grateful' for what you do - the only way to get around this is to make enough of a profit (big or small) to make sure you dont give a monkeys what people say.

If they turn up, pay their money, and have a good time - thats all that matters.

lol melt youre a fucking lunatic... the police will of came round because you had 150 smackrats stumbling round a northumberland country manor.

For someone who's been involved in the scene as long as you, you'd think you'd be able to tell the difference between a raid and a complaining neighbour

    idiot.

if you want to meet me that badly I'll come to the next detox, but serious mate your paranoia, arrogance, ego-mania, delusions of grandeur and general walter mittyness is bonkers - freud would have a feild day with you.

only been trying to say that for 300 odd posts

if people want to a have a go themselves, lets see the colour of their money, they can then take the risk and they put something on

at least joe put his money where his mouth was once , tried the promotion lark and decided utlimately it wasnt for him
