I had a great time and everyone I spoke to in the club and afterwards said they had a great time. Only concerns they had were the ones that have already been mentioned about the heat and the doormen but both had nothing to do with detox, that was a problem with the venue. I think the guys came up with the goods again concidering the short time they had to find a new venue after the problems with the one in middlesbrough. It may not have went according to everyones wishfull thinking including melts and statics but concidering the problems that they had to overcome I think they done a great job.
lee it was both of us who wrote that next time iguess we wont offer any guesties and how would you fucking know how it progressed you werent there from the very start what are you expecting soft muppet trance this was proteus adam lab 4 and organ donors and there couldnt have been any more progression from james wilson and static into flemming maybe you should check out evolve on the 18th for a softer night - girls like it hard - very original
I don't really understand why people are complaining about progression? Those who are complaining will find themselves in the minority as I think it's safe to say 90% of those at detox expected it to be pretty banging from the first record played. Every detox I've been to has been the same. MoS played some pretty floaty trance at the start and last track was Sean Tyas - Lift, imo that's about as prog as you can get at a hard dance event! It's not Promise, or Evolve. I've never been Junior G at the very start but Proudy hardly belts out the prog in his warmups, his are fairly banging usually well above 140, and they work for likes of van Linden etc so what's the problem? J00f had to bang it oot simply because he understood the crowd that were in, and the fact that the world number 1 hard dance dj was on after him... so floaty psy was out of the question really...
On a more serious note though, I was only telling you my personal opinion and that of others who I talked to. I'm not doubting that many other people enjoyed it. Like I said in my original post, I enjoyed some of it too.
thats about as untrue a statement as you can get to be fair tbh most of the board regular posters are generally only out to wind me up and static very rarely comes on here if people want wibblywoblyplinkyplonkydirtyfunkytechyhouse music they know where the cosmic ballroom and red rooms are for those "acquired taste" nights end of the day - man of science, static, james wilson and lee haslem did not bang out the hands in the air euro trance before JOOF if pete and rossy are happy with how fleming played WE ARE HAPPY as they are the hardest critics to please PEACE :chill:
detox does not need people like you and dont be calling static an arse you dear are a bandwagoner who thinks they like techno but wouldnt even know the difference between detroit and london techno you also wouldnt know the first thing about the multiple reasons behind moving venues the venue in boro held 500, the whole of the powerhouse , for we were promised the whole building if we cleared 600 holds 900+. we had just over 600 across the top 2 levels and the veneu still wouldnt open the 3rd level NOW SHUT UP and fuck off til you have clue
I dont need to keep the peace this board is shit this town is full of prima donnas if people dont like something , then dont go some of the biggest mouthpieces are the people trying to freeload you have to laugh the people who criticise detox saying "its a hard dance night" then they still go expecting diluted down trance when this time savage, proteus , organ donors and adam lab 4 were on they should all come back to me after theyve been to evolves original girls like it hard night on may 18th ------------------------------------------------------------------------ theres 3 things DETOX have little or in fact NO CONTROL over with this venue we used (1) bar prices in the powerhouse, if you recall shindig had this same problem several years ago with the times square birthday party (2) the doormen - altho we did warn people that they were very strict and very harsh and also that people leaving the venue after 1230 would be unlikely to get in after 1am - i dont know any other nights in town that does passouts all night long til midnight (3) temperature control , water supplies and air con in the venue - we did ask repeatedly for the windows in there to be opened (if there was any) and we never found out that the toilets only had hot water in until after the event - if that is the case its not only well out of order but totally against the law, limiting cold water supplies is something we would never be advocating. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know, your patter is straight up dude and I respect that we know who the real cunts / bandwagoners and freeloaders are

The one in the main room was shit. I had a joint and loads of poppers in front of him and he didn't appear to notice at all.
