I don't think its snobbery at all. You just need to have a good night with friends and not have some daft cunts starting shit whether it be Digital or anywhere, especially hitting women. I'm afraid you're wrong in terms of you thinking that people on here are middle-class. They're just clubbing veterans who don't like chavers.
    I blame tiesto myself:lol:

i never said people on here were middle class, i said it soiunds like middle class snobbery. which it does. read what i said carefully.

its not charvers that cause trouble. its just one or two individuals, weteher its drum n bass, house or techno... it really doesnt matter what kind of music it is. it's just pot luck wether you get a knacker in your club or not

    I like Digital.

    Not a patch on Foundation.

I think Stealth/Affinity/destiny is a good thing....for the Bigg market. It was looking a bit Grim ever since Yel closed. Not somewhere id personally drink. 9 times out of 10 its the Charvers who do cause most of the hassle/provoke things even more.

Good luck Aems. Heard it was a good night for Wiley lastnight!

Aye. I went a few times back in 2003/2004. People were getting slashed with razor blades, you got spat on from the balconies, pot noodles poured over you, and any hint of a fight then the bouncers came storming in and punched the fuck out of those involved (I saw teeth go flying). Pretty sure Ian "The Machine" Freeman provided security, so you can imagine the type of bouncers involved.

Fair point about stealth, not been in yet so I don't know how good (or bad it is).

My point about the music policy on a weekend still stands though, the clubland style music usually breeds trouble. As someone who has worked as a DJ for the last six years, I've seen nightclubs and nights where this kind of stuff is played and it usually attracts the wrong crowd. There are two of the places up the road from me and one of them has been refused a licence last week because the fighting has been so bad.

You're spot on about students causing bother too though - I've seen some pretty hairy nights in town and at foundation (seeing one rah take exception to someone breakdancing and deciding to stamp on his face being one of them).

One point I would put to you - stealth is aimed purely at both of these groups. Unless the management really know what they're doing, you're going to end up with this place's reputation right down there with the pig and yell.

I'm not being a snob at the end of the day (and I doubt most people in this thread are either) - I go out with my mates, we go out to nights in the town to enjoy the music, have a good laugh and so on. I'm not fussed about going to a club thats "exclusive", if I was I'd spend every weekend in apartment or another wank bar where you pay £20 per drink.

We couldn't give a shit if the kid next to us is wearing rockports or not as long as he's enjoying himself and the music as much as we are. I've been to trance nights, house nights, dnb nights, been to rave nights, hell I've even been dragged into ikon before on a saturday by my mates to see QFX  and I've had a great night. If all the people in a club are there to enjoy themselves and not cause trouble there's never any bother.

Drunken people are a regular occurence on any night out for obvious reasons and it doesn't bother me or anyone else, but it kind of spoils it when you end up with some drunken leering prick knocking your own drink over you and then trying to start a fight doesn't it?

The point of this thread is more that whilst digital do their best to filter out these people, they don't react quickly enough when the odd one slips through and then ruins someone else's night by smacking them in the face. It's not a rant against charvs in general, I'd be the first to admit that you can't pick out the troublemakers by seeing if they're wearing fred perry or not.

As for the new monkey, they don't have any bother at the moment, last I heard they didn't have anyone in at a weekend :)

Im amazed some people talk about charvers like they are some kind of accepted part of society that you can market club nights at!

They should be sterilised and put into work camps.

Being classed as a charva is no longer an insult it is a lifestyle choice.

my point is simple... it doesnt matter what background the person has... trouble happens or it doesnt...

less chat about "sterilising/killing all charvers" etc etc

Of course, but 9 times out of 10 the de-generates that feel the need to act in such a way in a nightclub normally cause the trouble amongst themselves, which in my book is fine, each to their own & all that bollocks.

The minute an innocent bystander is subject to or a victim of there behavior at a night many many moons away from the 'New Monkey' then I think were all WELL within our rights to get our backs up & be a little pissed off.

I hate generalisations and never group people into boxes, however, I don't feel this applies to charvers because I don't like them.
