I think speaking on behalf of Clare she expected to be able to go to a nightclub and have a good night without being assaulted??

I appreciate what you are saying about not labelling people etc, though the fact remains it was a 'charver' that did it and i would estimate that 90% of the bother i have seen in digital has been caused by someone of the same dress style and attitude to this lad.

I personally couldnt give a fuck who is dancing next to me in a club, they could wear jeans, rockports, drag or fucking fancy dress if they wish, as long as they are there to have a good night and enjoy the music/dj's without causing trouble to others around them.

The fact remains though that when we see 'charvers' in clubs, these lads continually let themselves down by causing trouble which has led to people on here having the negative opinion of them that they have.

The moment a 'charver' approaches me in a club, shakes my hand and makes any sort of statement that doesnt involve asking for 'cowies' or trying to cause trouble then i will post on here the next day retracting all comments i have made. From experience though i really cant see it happening....

what i mean, is that people are generalising that the troublemakers are charvers and saying stupid immature things like "sterilise them all" or "3000+ walking asbos" which is a MASSIVE genralisation and not representative of the actual amount of trouble that is caused, or who that trouble is caused by...

Its quite funny to think that your saying not to GENERALISE about charvers, but the whole raison'd'etre of a charver is someone who chooses not to be bound by the outdated concepts of law abidance, contribution to society and being respectful to themselves and things/people around them.

I'm with Rossy - leave the doorman on the door and i'll take my chances with the charvers.

its not that bad to be fair - however bad crack on claire tho, but tbf it would have been someone else who wasnt connected to these boards and nothing more would have been said.

comparing the monkey with digital's security is pointless, for a start they didnt sell alcohol in the monkey - and i never really saw any trouble the one time i was there years ago, the problem was the "crews" had there own little area's of the club (e.g benwell ravers utd in this corner, soof sheelds masiv in another and so on) which was a nightmare, but the sheer amount of cowies on the premesis dulled the tension.

the hanger at the McEwans centre sold drink and there was loads of trouble there, however the security at that place was spot on most of the time, but 800+ charvs drinking brown ale and comparing rockports will never end well.

stop being soft people. i'm not a hardnut but i'll take it if it comes - radgies are a mere distraction at a club, and in somecases a good form of entertainment when having a tab outside. (@ adam, the writers united squad outside of regen )

I went to Shindig last night and although I didn't see any trouble, I couldn't help but feel intimidated by a small number of people dressed in stripy jumpers and dancing like they were at a hard house night. They were giving people hacky looks all night and you could see people just moving away from them so as not to be involved in any trouble.

Obviously the short back and sides, stripy jumpers and the fact that they were all pissed out of their faces wasn't enough to convince the bouncers that these type of people might possibly be the ones who cause bother in the club and kick girls heads in....
