i've heard although never used A+E mixers you cant justify your eq in your headphones?? which i find i need to could be wrong though
you mean when you kill the bass it doesnt kill it in your headphones? im sure a&h can do that? i think that would be handy as fuck, only ever kill the bass when just about to go in mix
i thats what i mean mate, just i was in two minds for a djm 600 or a xone 62 but the above if not possible put me off
I dont need facts, i have ears which are more useful than any report have you used a Xone mixer? If you have then you will know that the sound is killed completely whereas on the DJM the sound is not, you can have all 3 EQ's turned down and the sound will still come through. Plus the Xone has 4 Eq's so there is less range for the individual eq's to work on......a 3 Eq mixer has to do more work to kill the sound And you can chose on the Xone92if your hear the sound pre-eq or post-eq when you are cueing the sound. You cant on the 62
It's only the xone 92 that has 4 band eq... And that statement is bollocks about them having to work harder coz there's 3 instead of 4.....It's all about where the crossover points for each individual eq are set, if they aren't set properly then there may be some "leaking" of frequencies in between bands which is why some sound may come through even when the eqs are at there lowest point, but mainly whether they are true "kills", or simply -20db cuts, for example, which just lowers the level. A 4 band eq mixer probably has to work harder in fact to separate the sound into 4 bands instead of 3...
So it is.......thought they were the same as the 32's but with more channels. One thing I don't like about the 32 & 62 are the up-faders, not very good for flicking things in and out, at least, not for me
I don't really like them to be honest (the eqs), like you say, not enough kill on them, but I do really like the feel of the faders, although not being able to slowly bring stuff in can be a bit shit, no curve at all - which is good sometimes, but a right tit at others. Build quality isn't too hot either, and only having one ground is a right pain in the arse. Overall I think they are probably overpriced for what you get, BUT a lot of the techno djs we've had up ask for them, and I've never really had a problem using them, I quite enjoy using them sometimes. I love my little technics mixer though - the dmc one - So you can probably tell eqs aren't top of my list only got low and high eqs but the high sounds like a filter when you bring it out which I really like, and the faders are class - but the crossfader is proper dink, breaks after a few months, and I'm not even a scratch dj
thats a load of crap on my djm no sound leaks through lol and to chris, the djm aint a scratch mixer either, it just has a good loose cross fader
and at the end of the day i've used both aswell and far prefer my mixer, so people could throw facts and their opinions all day but it comes down to what you prefer using
Now Peter we know thats not true theres no so thing as preference if someone else says somethings deffinatly better because thats what they like using tis FACT
Simon's got a big heart i'll give him that nah i honestly just prefer my mixer to the xone62 that i used, not cos its better but because i prefer the feel of it, the eq's are alot more loose so i can piss around catching the bass when im bored, and the cross fader is also really good, alot of people people probably dont practice scratching and prefer having 4 eq's for smoother mixing thats cool, so they'd prefer the xone
i have to say the xone92 looks the dogs bollocks but is way out of my price range, maybe that mixer has sorted out the niggly problems that (i) didn't like with the other one lol
