Ah, I miss the days when you could have a good political debate, have a laugh with people and share stuff with people you actually liked.

*Puts slippers on, lights pipe, wanders off into fuzzy-edged reminiscing*

I really worry about myself for continuing to log on at the moment!

I've given the board a rest today; whilst all the aliases and windups were quite funny to start with it's getting a bit repetitive now, especially with all the stupid usernames.

On the positive side my assignment workrate is up as a result

one minute people complain because the board is quiet and has no banter or arguments, the next when the threads are moving people still complain.

as much as i love the debates that used to fill this place up (and still appear from time to time) this place is never going to be what it was, which is a big shame. if i want intellectual debate i will go elsewhere.

its not helped by the influx of recent annoying idiots who refuse to understand that there is a community here that is not interested in their spammage.

I don't have a problem with decent debate or banter on here, the problem is that the majority of the new members consider "fuck you" as a response to anything said to them.

And like MoS says, there's a lot of rubbish to wade through, too many repetitive threads...

Banter and arguments are all very well, but why the same thing on every thread?

And believe me, intellectual stimulation is not the reason I come on here. Boredom at work is.

i like busy-ness - i just hate constant CONSTANT drivvle

plus, i never complain about it being quiet - if you're not part of the solution - you're part of the problem - but sometimes, you get to the end of your thread. so to speak.

get back to exams and shit ass-wipe

Mainly because I can't stand the utter rubbish that you post.

Instead of griefing you in every rubbish thread you start, I've decided just to ignore you because you seem to thrive on the attention like a badly-behaved child.

Say something interesting and I might reply accordingly.

i agree, but i'm also too stubborn to suffer fools gladly. maybe im getting old and grumpy but i think a certain members post in reply to conway kind of sums up the latest mentality. its highly irritating to say the least.

as for intellectual debate, lol, well its had its moments!

It's a vicious circle though: the more people have a go, the more other people reply, the more people have a go, and so it goes on.

It makes a nice change to the usual maximum of 20 posts a day on here.

Most of the good posters are still on here, but i bet alot of people stop posting because anything decent is just lost among a load of random rubbish.

Theres an art to keeping a messageboard running smoothly .... some pruning for instance, wouldnt go amiss ;)
