in those circumstances i agree that it's not going to be possible but those wanting to move for a better life should have to learn the language...how do they expect to earn a living if they can't talk to people...or do they think we should pay for them??

yes you are right on cue  having people in your country who wont learn the language leads to segregation. peopl who obviously speak the same language can communicate. having loads of cultures living on their own does nothing for the wider community as a whole.

plus if soeone cant speak english theyre gonna find it harder to ge a decent joba nd contribute to the society via taxes.

theres laods of reasons why not speaking the same language is bad for the nation, dopey fucker

i agree about asylum seekers, they might have no choice before they makethe decision to flee... but surely a condition upon being granted asylum should be they attempt to fit in and are given as much help as possible?

otherwise they could find themselves alienated and even outcast in their adoptive country.

another reason is when a foreigner is trying to ask me where something is when i'm at work and doesn't know the word for the thing, it takes me fucking ages to get it out of them and it wastes my time:evil:

    have to agree there

as lee said, theres no point having different cultures that dont integrate, at least to some extent... so i think making sure immigrants (not just asylum seekers) coming to the country are equipped to handle life here, if any need help then it should be offered.

illegal immigrants is an issue, not as big as the tabloids make it, but an issue nonetheless... its the hard work to find out which ones should remain and which ones shouldnt, but it goes without saying that those who refuse to contribute should be first in the queue to leave.
