the reason there has been currently no charges brought or are going to be brought is that there is no court with the power for them to be heard in. the constitution would provide such a court, this may be to your liking, but the pro's and con's of this could be debated forever. i'm not claiming to be right but it is my educated opinion that currently we stand to lose a lot more, than we stand to gain.

    :D

Indeed I fcuking will; have you never heard the statement, "For evil to triumph, it is necessary only for the good people to do nothing" ?

This is exactly how WWII, the Holocaust, Stalin, etc. happened.

i think 'idealists' is the important word there! i apologise profusely for dealing with and looking at the situation in real terms and for not examining it under conditions that are very unlikely to ever become fact. :p

that is a total misrepresentation and over dramatisation of my stance, not once have i suggested that it is a good idea to do nothing in the face of such evils. my stance is simply, after reading and analysing all of the facts, it is my view that it does not benefit us to enter into the consititution in its current form.

Replace " real terms " with " a short term, blinkered, and railroaded view ", and you would be more closely approximating the truth. Apa thy and complacency, along with a disbeleif that change is actually possible, are largely Western conditions and misconceptions.

Make no mistake, however - they _are_ misconceptions.

Real change has and will occured in all societies. We would do well to remember these wise words ( I'll leave it to you to find out who said them ) :

"Never underestimate the ability of a small, determined group of people to change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

    Harry

PS Sorry for long response time - I do occasionally have to pretend I'm doing some work :)

I am not accusing your view on the issue at hand of being apathetic, simply your ( implied ) attitude towards the broader political scheme in the world.

yet again you seem to think i am against change, i am not against change per sae, just change that does not benefit us.

alas work calls, and we will have to agree to disagree. ;)
