A lot of the people I spoke to went there simply to see Richard Tulip, something you couldn't exactly acclaim to, say, James Anderson.

Rossy do you remember the conversation at junior g for askew regarding a certain residents mixing

re: SLASH's comments ... I would say Newcastle university helped out a lot considering their freshers tour guides had orange t-shirts with the words DIGITAL on them all over town and were leading droves of students to times square on Friday night

but I reckon junior g would do better if it was on the last friday of the month , however freaky dancing which has a much less fickle following have already got that slot

    :)

    aye.
Im really glad this went well for Richard, would have made it down though it being the friday before payday didnt have the coin to make it.

Line up wise it didnt do a lot for me, never been that big a Woods fan and Lashes isnt my thing at all, though you cant deny that she fills a club when she is on.

Line up wise Junior G has had much better line ups than this (imo anyway) but has attracted probably a third as many people, probably a combination of it being freshers week, Lashes/Woods having more crossover appeal than say O'Bir or Askew, and also being held at Digital it will attract a lot more people than most nights at the Cosmic would.

In terms of the residents Mark & Proudy @ JG are both very good DJ's, though neither would attract the same crowds that Richard would, which is another reason why friday was busy. I would like to see Richard do another 'Evolve' in the future, and i will even try to make it down next time lol.

With a lot of promotion though heres hoping the new intake of students help JG be busy in a couple of weeks, as im well looking forward to Sheridan rinsing Chinatown :king: :D

Newcastle has been pretty dead throughout the whole summer to be honest but now I reckon the clubs will get busier. Although I agree to a certain extent there would have been some students there....from the crowds reactions to certain well known tunes that got played I think it was a lot of trance fans too.

i enjoyed Marcel Woods and Tulip although the taxi queue was calling as soon as Lashes graced the decks.

Is that not the idea mix for any club? 70% new people to keep the club "evolving" Not every club promoter wants to only run a night for the same 200-300 people all the time

I really enjoyed it and it seemed really busy to me. I did go mainly for Richard Tulip and he was class as usual. The crowd were great and thats the best atmosphere I have ever come across in Digital yet. A lot of very wrecked charvers which amused me all night! Marcel was quite good exactly like I thought he would be.

However once Lisa Lashes came on I honestly felt as though I was going through a slow and painful death and I think my ears were bleeding too.

Yes it was deffinitely full, more so than any shindig I've been to recently.

I was talking to the owner of digital and also the chief executive of Sony and Madonna and they all told me it was full.
