looking at the wizzened features of some , despite the fact they are not past 25 i would say some are hastening their demise very quickly

    the clock is ticking

We had to take off our shoes in Newcastle a couple of weeks ago.

You can put your toothpaste etc in your case though forks, so i don't see what the problem is there. If you're planning on using it on the plane then you can always buy some at a shop in the departure lounge.

i got frisked by an army soldier with an M16 and a German Shepard when i was in the states!

I think it's a good thing. I don't mind waiting a little longer...it's peace of mind as far as i'm concerned.

Do people actually need piece of mind? The thought of being involved in a terrorist attack has never even crossed mine. There have been what, 3/4 attacks on the US/UK in the past few years? I wasn't near any of them.

I don't think it's gonna happen because of all the security. If they took the high security measures away then it would be at the back of my mind.

I'd say for the thousands of people who are scared of flying that it will be one less thing for them to worry about!

well i don't neck cowies so ill worry about the terrorists, and try finding a pilot, or flight crew willing to fly on a low risk security aircraft, or even a travel company willing to risk a billion dollar aircraft just so forks can get on his plane 2 hours early.

who do you think is most likely to kill you- the airline management with cost cutting or a terrorist?
we are all like rabbits in headlights scared witless about bogey men. they exist but they always have and always will. there is no such thing as 'security' nor is england facing a' threat to national security'
its got up to keep us in our place. unquestioning supporters of whatever new powers they dream up to keep us 'secure'
I don't want to be secure if it means I am no longer free.
the flying shite is just one more manifestation of it.

If you could go back to 8/11 and know what was going to happen a month later, would you choose to enforce airline security or take it as a sacrifice so that others don't have to wait in line for a couple of hours in the future?

but the point is you don't know what will happen. and the 'security ' is always reactive. 11/9 could happen again tomorrow if someone has a bright idea that works and is prepared to try it.
all the shoes off in the world won't stop a ball bag bomber or a wig bomber or an explosive eyeballs bomber or whatever is next.
in 10 years time they will have us all tucked up in bed by 8pm in case anything bad should happen......... it's dark at night. much more risky. better to stay in eh
