when i was working in accounts for a big company over last summer, they'd just moved their call centre abroad, and every time there was a discrepancy with the wages i had to ring up. This led to me virtually banging my head against a brick wall and lots of people being paid wrong, so i resorted to email as i thought they might understand the written word a bit better, after receiving emails saying things like "I have done the needful", I realised i was wrong!!

I had a similar problem when trying to set up photo messaging when i phoned O2...i ended up being asked to be put through to an english call centre (after ringing foreign one 3 times) and making a strongly worded complaint.

and i hate it when they say "The weather is very nice today" - yes it probably is in India you tool, We are not stupid enough to believe you are actually in Newcastle!!

    sorry, rant over

i worked a norwich union when i'd graduated, they where one of the first comapnies to shift to india a couple of years ago, the trainers and management we worked with where the first ones to admit that it wasn't working and was causing endless conflicts...

then the situation arose where the indian graduates who fill these subcontinental hell holes, realised that any monkey with a half an o-level and a gnvq in 'verbal communication' (ie. speaking) could do the job... therefore leaving these great british companies with a massive staffing dilema...

they openly admitted that the companies know the outsourcing projects are collapsing around them, but in being as obstinate as they are refuse to admit this and cease the reloactions...
