Giving up smoking

    On the topic , if you do end up having a sly smoke at some point don't let it detract you from the ultimate goal of giving up. I graduated from smoking 20 a day down to only smoking when out and then currently not smoking at all. I read somewhere that on average it takes someone 8 or 9 attempts to give up smoking and i can definately relate to that.

    See that info is much better :) And has made me feel better! I think when someone says something like that it makes you feel like you dont wanna give in as easily? I dunno. Anyway thanks :angel3:

    That's true. You begin to notice the smell of it more. You can tell when someone at work has just been out for a tab cos they stink of it, and you find yourself thinking "urgh I used to smell like that" which puts you off even more :D

    Also, food and stuff tastes nicer after a few weeks :love:

    well i have went 6 days up to now without one just about will power :) makes u wanna eat more after few days just dont go to crazy if u dont wanna put the weight back on

    I've done three days now which is supposedly the worst bit over and done with. I would still very much like a cigarette though:rolleyes:

    i thought it was the fist 3 weeks after that was ok ive still got a bad cough but not as much as a smoker but im miles fitter can run more and last longer in the gym

    I think thats the best thing to do!

    A woman from my work used to smoke 40 a day without fail and one day she just went right Im giving up and never had one since :lol: she is a VERY determined woman though!

    Saying that she put on a good 35-45 pounds

    2 of the girls at work are quitting and have been using the patches but it's as if they're on drugs as soon as they put them on they get this high and go all wierd :lol:
