Global last night.....

Well, everything went great in the end. The weather was lovely, there was a huge turnout and all the acts I wanted to see showed up. The only drawback for me was possibly the coach (took about 2 hours to travel the last 10 miles on the way in, in the baking heat in a doggy old coach) and the actual prices within global drinks were £4 and food was also a rip off. Having said that, i did make quite a few trips to the strongbow rooms, that cider went down a treat in the hot weather.

I saw plenty of acts in the end;

Global tent: Carl cox, adam beyer, and trevor rockliffe
Godskitchen: Tiny bit of tiesto, tiny bit of pvd
Bedrock: All of jimmy van M, Sasha and Digweed, Zabiela, Howells, Hernan Cattaneo.
Airlump DJ's. some of UNKLE,stanton warriors
Babooshka: Some of Morillo, and some of lawler.

Completely missed the polysexual + accelerated culture arenas and missed the beach arena.

The highlight of my evening was hernan cattaneo, the man was playing some awesome stuff, and his mixing was flawless. Zabiela was also awesome, he rocked the place bigstyle, doing some awesome shiaat seemingly effortlessly. Sasha and digweed were pretty bog standard, nothing too outstanding. All the sasha bashers were up t'front tugging away.

Tiesto was rubbish, for the little time I was there the mixing sounded awful, which when combined with tent accoustics made it even worse.

Carl cox was superb, playing hard as nails but loving every minute of it.

Also kudos to the bus driver, woke the poor bastard up at 6am and sat around for 2 hours smoking :chill:

Glad to hear Armin rocked it - he's always been no 1 for me :worship:

Ferry's set sounded pretty damn good as well.

Might have to think about going next year...

Jus got in from work..after being at global but wasnt arsed at all after the night i had!!!

Set of the nite had 2 be armin's 4 me!! Absolutely amazing, one of the best sets ive ever heard!! Played 'Communication', 'Urban Train v Yet Another Day' and Katana's 'In silence' which totally blew me away!!!!

Van dyk was a close second...definately my fave dj. His mixing was spot on and brought the crowd back up after a disappointing tiesto Played my tune of the nyt aswel....ASYS - No More Fucking Rock n' Roll (I Fookin love it)love:

Tiesto - My first time seeing him and was a complete let-down. Had an amazing entrance with 'Forever Today' (sounded amazing in the arena) but took the mood down a lot in the arena instead of building on what armin had generated! Did still play some good tunage but wasnt the right time for some of it.

Tall Pall - Crackin' way to start the day!

J OO F - Absolutely class!! Some of the tunes he played were amazing!!

Dave Clarke - Seen him for about 15 mins and was quality!! His mixing was spot on everytime...only way I cud tel if he'd mixed it was by seeing him remove the vinyl from the deck

Sanchez - I love what this guy plays. His chunky base lines blow me away everytime!

Also the crack was amazing and hopefully sum pics of Andy will get up on the board....WAS ABSOLUTELY HALARIOUS!!

Overall an awesome night out - Can't wait for Creamfields now!

Oh and just remered...seen about half an hour of Gabriel and Dresden....

Opened with Motorcycle - 'When the Rush Comes' and followed with Above and Beyond's 'No One On Earth'

Also played a mix of Nirvana's 'Smell's Like Teen Spirit' which I was liking the sound of!!!

Can't wait to see them at Promise

what a day, nice weather loads of booze and all the rest.

nearly every1 i saw spot on apart from tiesto and picotto.

j00f was class, played some class tunes and got the crowd goin loads, defo worth goin to see again soon.

armin van buuren, this man is fuckin unreal. missed half an hour in the middle of his set to go and see killa kella, but from what i saw he was bang on form. mick was even saying "fuck van dyk, its all about van buuren" he was that impressive.

killa kella was amazing, if u get the chance to go see this man go see him. saw him on the tele before but it was nothing compared to seeing him live. he done 25mins 1 man and 1 mic, no decks, he provided all the music (beatboxing) never seen anyone beatbox drum and bass while singing over the top of it themselves. this was defo on of the highlights of the night.

tiesto was gash, mixing was all over the place, brought some tunes in to early/late. he plaed a few decent tunes like langes new tune and adagio for strings but apart from that he was shit.

van dyk delivered the goods as always, pounding bass, amazing atmosphere and amazing tunes. dropped loads of class tunes, few ive heard before but have no idea what they were called. hope he plays like this when i next go see him.

oakey earlier on was shit hot from what i saw. dropped traffic which i was pretty suprised at.

dont like drum and bass but found that the drum and bass arena was defo good crack.

all in all bring on next year.

in silence was definetley the tune of the night, armin and vandit dropped it and it took the roof off!!!, loved the track before GG but love it even more afer hearing it on that sound system!!! crowd went mental for it!!!

all of the above, a few of his tunes were really dark!!! wish he had have been on later though!!!

was banging!!!, need to find out a few of the tracks he played tbh!!!, some of the break downs in his tunes were unreal and when they came back in even better!!!, one of the sets of the night along with armin & van dyk!!!

carnt wait to see him at promise, always better in a smaller venue!!! sounds that much beefier!!!

Dave Clarke played the best set I saw,his cutting was unbelievable. Coxy and De Hey were also very good.

Not a big fan of the main arena - its just too big even though the DJ booth was well set-up amnesia style. Tiesto and G & D were both disappointing.

Zabiela was doing his usual mad tricks but the atmosphere was a bit flat.

Overall very good,the sound in most tents was better than previous festivals.

Worst part is the journey home and paying a fiver for a programme outside the train station which was a total fake

Umek was playing some good stuff,pretty hard and minimal but his mixing wasn't up to the standard of the other DJs in there. thought he was going to be a technical whizz. He also dropped one of the worst tunes I've ever heard a techno DJ drop near the end of his set

the howevecr much i saw of dave clarke was amazing, always thought technically hes on of if not the best djs in the world and he certainly showed why yesterday,

went over for a bit with splash to see coxy but the arena was jam packed and people were pushing to try get in so we gave it a miss,

varela sounded pretty good aswell from when we were sat outside

I've noticed sometimes its really busy round the edge of tents but once you get in a bit there's often more space

the sound was wicked in bedrock, really clear......bit half hearted in godskitchen tho

I went in Bedrock near the end and it was really bad. All the speakers were totally out of time with each other. Seems to vary over the night how good the sound is
