    Mate carbs have nothing to do with muscle synthesis, yes they are used as you use energy, im talking about maintaining muscle size/mass after you train, not whether you feel like running to the shops and back, i know what you mean but that's completely different to what i meant.

    you can tell pete's a bit fed up with this argument like :lol:

    at the end of the day i think it's all about personal preference (as said before), even though if its all pshycological (which it isnt really), it works all the same.

    I didn't say that, I said on the whole they're useless. At elite level they can be advantageous, but even then levels of success vary greatly and are usually minimal.

    and yes i am talking about buliding/maintaining mass after you train - again i refer to the insulin point.

    Take an ecstasy, ketamine and cocaine stack before every gym session. Then a few joints after to recover the muscles.

    tbh many are utterly shite but you can't knock protein/creatine/beta-alanine supplementation!

    I agree carbs are very important, but so is protein directly after you train lol

    haha ecstacy pre for energy, bit of coke to top things up and mimmick the energy drink, then ket post training to relax and recover :up:

    I have a Strawberry Yazoo about 30mins before the gym and then a banana one immediately afterwards.

    a ratio of 2:1 carb: protein is often reccomended

    like i say its your glycogen levels that take the biggest battering in the gym
