There isn't following in Boro, or Yarm for trance dj's. It's gotta be deemed popular (i.e 'Retro', or someone playing 'electro') for people to show up. It really doesn't help when it's the week before payday too, but hopefully it'll pick up in August.

i'm sure MOST cities and towns have a trance following, not just Newcastle... i thought it was a GREAT line up, excellent venue and a good price - which i bet most people did...

move somewhere good if you want good trance/hard house/house/etc every week...

i suggest london, leeds, manc, birmingham etc...

imo having empire for the venue wasn't the best idea...

Nah blakey, i agree with some of what you`re saying BUT it`s also about the strength of the lineup & you know it, people used to bother going to Promise & attend GG solely coz they made/make the effort to book more than one headliner, when will the `Shack ever learn this?! - The ONLY time you`ll get away with one headlining DJ is when they`re one of the very biggest names in whatever genre, otherwise you`ll get the oh sooo predictable usual `Shack sparse turnout, it was great to see Luke playing & i`m sure he did well, but to really make waves & get people to attend, the launch night was at least one headliner short!........

That`s the problem with the `Shack in my opinion, for yrs while the scene was buoyant the club ran itself almost & they had a tried & tested format for running the place that worked, nowadays with the scene in decline & attendances shocking, they haven`t deviated from the old format, thay aint prepared to change tack or make more effort - they are reaping the results!......

BTW Blakey - You wont shut me up on this board! :D .....
