i just generally dislike jap cars, yet i know thousands of people who love them. i find them all ugly, i prefer cars to be beautiful, not built like a wedge.

Unfortunatly the majority of 'modifiers' you see are those whose car's look like they been covered in superglue and then crashed through halfords front window. Calling everyone who modify's their cars 'the dregs of society' is a bit like labeling everyone into dance music as '15 year old charv smackheads'. Like I said before, the ones who parade themselves around in their £50 sheds who wouldn't know taste or sublety if their giro depended on it, are the ones you see all time. Those who actually have some clue about what they're doing don't go and chuck on an exhaust the size of the tyne tunnel or 5 tonnes of fibreglass cack on the front....

Halfords et al is to modifying what Ikon is to Clubbing...

And given the choice of a £50k car I think a Maserati would do very nicely......

personally I'd rather some charver spend £3000 making his nova look good, than some ignorant prick spending £10,000 to make his vauxhall as fast as a porsche.

Well bearing in mind I drive a 1.1ltr 106.. I'm hardly gonna race it in any way. So therefore you can retract the statement about me being scum.

My mate who owned the Nova would only race it on the track at donny.. he was against racing down streets for the very reason you list (except the baby part).
There was only one ocasion down the M194 with the BMW M3.
