In now way can you hold the two in the same league though ... sitting at cafe del mar and sitting in an arena seat purposely built for watching ice hockey are two very different things.

You should seriously go, it's not just about clubs.

Well - my "high level" reasons for not going to both are the effect they have on the day to day industry etc etc.

Having said that - i do agree that the parts of ibiza where you strip back all the overpaid, overhyped guff that has driven it into the ground are probably still great.

I reckon a week at once is about the best time to go for. Any longer than that and you start to feel a bit f*ked up and not enjoying it as much

i didnt find that like. i went for 2 weeks and spent about a grand and a half and every night was totally class.
gotta say that the heat was a bit intense for me like.
fell asleep pissed on the beach on the first day and burned all my feet, knees, shoulders, nose and arms. next time ill remember to put suntan cream on when i get out of the sea/pool.;)

Are you talking about the entrance costs & drink prices?

Average ticket for club nights cost £20-£25 --- it's not that bad in comparison to paying £15 here for a good few hours less and all the best DJ's. You get a vodka coke for £6 - £8 but there generally massive (triple) measures and you often get a free drink with your ticket price. It cost about £4 a can of beer in Foundation and I've paid more here.

You get taxi deals with your ticket, cheap carry outs or bars before going out, then there's the weather, atmosphere and venues ---- I find I spend less on a night out in Ibiza than I do here - only problem is you go out every other night.

You can do everything in Ibiza, have a fucking great time and not get fleeced. I totally disagree that it's been driven into the ground too, the clubs are still as good, cafe del mar is still as chilled and it's still the only place I would go for a holiday of that style.

I don't mind the club prices since you're getting a really good night but its the price of water I hate. When you're in a club for hours (you can be in space for 12 hours easily) and in a hot country, you're going to need loads of water. At a fiver for a small bottle they're totally exploiting you. I think its canny dagerous too for people dehydrating

That's a fair enough point ... that's the venues though as they know you can't drink the tap water. You are aloud out of Space once though and back in during the day.

Yeah good chance to get a big bottle of water for next to nothing. Do you drink much alcohol in the clubs? Apart from the free drink I hardly do at all compared to when I'm in England

I spend about £60 to £80 on drinks in the clubs. I know a few Spaniards who work in the clubs, so I always get them cheap or I get a stupid amount of vodka in my drink.

I normally allow 80 - 100 quid for each night clubbing but you can do it cheaper if you're careful or easily spend a lot more.
Might sound a bit scabby but a good way to save a bit of money on the sunset strip is to sit on the beach in front of the bars with cheap drinks from the supermarket. You still get the view and the music
